Unfortunately, the All Natural Face and Burt's Bees options don't have enough SPF for my tastes (I'm fair-skinned, and live at altitude), but the Andalou might be just what I need. I haven't tallied my total purchases for the year yet, but off the top of my head I'm betting it's between 30 and 35, including gear etc. Nodding along with your "natural fibers, sustainability, quality, and longevity" criteria.  For tinted SPF, I'd suggest trying Andalou Naturals. They have a few different types, but my go-to is the "1000 Roses" CC Cream. It's a zinc oxide 30SPF. They have two tints, both of which are pretty light. JenniNZ, I always write down personal and professional goals at the start of the year, but I think last year was the first time I did style goals. I will definitely be doing it again! rachylou, my regular hair styling routine involves spritzing with sea salt and scrunching and.... yeah, just that. That's why it's so important to keep up on the cuts! Suz, it's been pretty interesting dipping my toes into California life this year! I've been out there about once a month since we got the apartment in October, so I feel like I'll have a pretty good grasp of my needs by the time we move this summer. Aww thanks, nemosmom! I might not have succeeded at all my goals, but writing them down did make me more aware throughout the year. Thanks, Bonnie! You, of course, have to imagine these paired with my essentials in denim, black, and cognac leather! I'm glad you enjoyed it, Canada! karen13, I'm not even sure why it felt like it didn't work. Maybe because I prefer the look of more structured a-line skirts, but felt more comfortable and productive in knit skirts? Nothing felt quite right. I think dresses are better for me in the summer, but I still haven't figured out the perfect shape for both my life and my body. lisa p, this is the first time I've really looked at them all together, and it does tell a story, doesn't it? I'm pretty pleased that the items seem to be pretty balanced between summer, winter, and the shoulder seasons.  And as I told bonnie, I do pair all those warm colors with a lot of black and denim! I have nor been a skirt or dress wearer since I left the Corporate world years ago (and then it was stuffy suits). Relatively recently I bought my first casual summer maxi skirts due to YLF. I was surprised how well they work for staying cool andsun covered, but they lacked function as I’m not a big purse wearer. I finally made myself one last summer with huge pockets and I love it. I think I will make more next year. I didn't plan most of them in advance, and still stayed close to my goal. They all added something new and interesting to my wardrobe, whether that was an injection of a new color or a happy-making print. <ul> <li>Create a hot-weather, work-at-home uniform. I really enjoyed having a go-to uniform for most of the year, and I think it helped my productivity on dedicated work days. I'd like to come up with an equivalent for summer.</li> </ul> I tried out skirts as a summer uniform, which was fine, but I didn't love the result. They just weren't as practical or comfortable as I would have liked. Next summer will be different for me, as I'll probably take most of it off for relocation. I don't feel like my 2017 purchases were obscene, but part of the appeal of buying higher quality is getting more wear out of each piece.</li> </ul> I actually bought a bit more, but so far, this year's purchases are serving me well. If anyone knows a natural brand that makes a great BB Cream or tinted sunblock with at least SPF 30, that would complete the transition for me. Hair has been better this year too, as I've started making appointments as I leave the salon. No delays or excuses! <ul> <li>Find alternatives to black bottoms. I have a lot of black tops and too many black bottoms for my preference. Ideally, I'll find some pieces that are rich in texture and nuance.</li> </ul> I think I've done pretty well at this too. Bottoms I added this year included a striped skirt, blue jeans, a rust skirt, and mustard wide-legs. (Also, two black skirts. Old habits...) <ul> <li>Update my gear capsule. I go to the gym 3-4x per week, and I haven't bought new gear in several years. It's time.</li> </ul>  Done! <ul> <li>Update my wardrobe with more "pretty" items, including florals, lace, and silk. These make me happy.</li> </ul> I've definitely done this, but more with my winter items than summer. Perhaps a focus for 2019, should be some prettier summer pieces, especially since that will soon be my dominant season. I'm still thinking about goals for 2019. I suspect a lot of them will revolve around acclimating to a new location/climate, increasing sustainability, and finding my style happy place for the new year. </div>
