Both of my parents had salt and pepper hair while I was growing up. My dad ended up with a shiny head of silver hair and my mom is now pure white. It is looking like I have a mix of both.</p> <p>Niki Lea, it is interesting how our looks can cause others to reflect upon their own aging process. One of my friends jokes that she likes sitting beside me, because she looks even younger. LOL</p> <p>Vix, the current support and popularity of gray on people of all ages has certainly made my process easier. Even without the support, I was ready for the change. I do have a mix of shades, especially underneath and in the back. I have been dying mine for ages, probably at least 20 years, and am getting to the point of letting it grow out. I'm not quite ready yet but in a few more years maybe. We are getting so close to all of the dyed hair being gone. It will take a bit longer for what ever is left of the highlighting to get chopped, but the majority of what we see is mine. The toner helps cut the brassiness (is that a word?) that can occur due to environment, heat, product use, etc.<br /> Sara L, I bet yours will look even better when your hair decides to lose pigment.</p> <p>Thank you Jenni, yes! Seeing these beautiful young women (and young men, too) go out and take on the world is a great feeling.</p> <p>Thank you Lisa P. I like this better than the blonder shades, too. Some of the blond was from my own lightened hair, some from the highlights and some from the previous toner used. As more and more of my own silver white gain in length we are going with cooler shades of the toner, when needed. I am also using violet shampoo to keep the tones on the brighter, but cooler side.
