I love both outfits Sylvie! Love the black leather jacket over both dress and jeans!
Waving to my fellow Melissa boot twin! And I know where you were in #1. We must get together sometime--when is there going to be a Bay Area YLF meetup?
I don't see any problem with the jeans in #2. I love how your specs coordinated with your jeans.
Love the first outfit - the bag & boots are the icing on the cake. I think you may be right about wearing a longer top with the skinnies however I suspect the angle of the photo probably emphasises the crotch wrinkles more than they would have appeared IRL.

These are two very nice outfits.
I like the jacket with the dress and the purple bag really added the perfect amount of color.
In outfit #2 I like the fit of the shirt and I think the creases on the pants are from the way you are standing because otherwise they seem to fit you very well.
So great to see you posting again. I don't find the first outfit too Goth. I really love the crossbody bag, and it's true that it added just the right hit of colour.

You look great ! I really like the different textures and the purlple ( blue ? ) shirt under the dress in #1.

I would agree that maybe a longer shirt/top would work a little better. But to be honest, this seems to be personal taste since I see this a lot. I like to get skinnies 1 to 2 sizes bigger. I then have the waist taken in. I get the "skinny" look with out all the crotch, hip issues. But then again, I am over 20 years older than you !

I don't see #1 as too goth either, none of the goths I knew would wear a scuba jacket :} I like the rich purples added to that one. The tee in #2 looks like a good roomy tee; anything that has extra fabric from roominess is going to give folds like that, I don't think it's something to worry about unless it's something way more severe than we can see from the photo. LOVE the addition of the white purse in outfit #2! Nice to see you post and like Una, I feel lucky to have met you so I can picture your lovey face and smile with these ^^

That leather jacket fits you perfectly! I agree, the bright bag takes it out of goth territory. Nice youthful style.
i wear most of my skinnies with longer tops! I love the formula though. And the first outfit isn't too goth to my eye. Nice to have met you so I can picture your gorgeous face here.

One of my family members came for a visit in February which means... I have photos of what I wore.

1) Black dress over purple t-shirt, grey tights, black Melissa laceups, black moto, purple leather crossbody, sunglasses.

I didn't realize how goth-y #1 looked until I saw the photo. I'm glad I was wearing the bright purple bag to add in some color and next time I'll wear lilac tights. Tall boots + dress is definitely one of my favorite outfit formulas.

2) Red jeans, Zara sparkly grey skull t-shirt, black moto, white/black spectator crossbody, red glasses. I don't remember the shoes - I think I was wearing grey or red ankle boots.

I'm not thrilled about the crotch wrinkling on these jeans - maybe I should stick to wearing them with longer tops? Also, I sized up on the t-shirt but that makes it look weird and wrinkly as I lean to the side. I think the only thing that's saving this outfit is the purse.

Constructive criticism is welcome as I experiment with my style.

4/8 update: Just wanted to say thank you so much for your feedback and comments. I didn't get a chance to respond over the weekend and didn't want to bump the thread.
