I think Aida is spot on! The top in #1 is pretty and flows well, but can easily be tucked as you have.

The denim shirt looks very nice and polished closed! A true denim jacket would be an excellent topper.

Thank you Aida and Joy! :-)

I see your point about the denim shirt, Aida. I liked it better closed too. Very happy you both think the blouse can work out well as casual and tailored looks.

Adding a belt is a great suggestion! :-)

I forgot to ask you YLF'ers before shopping the last times - not so wise.

Your flowered blouse looks so springy! I like it best tucked into your skirts and would suggest adding your belt to these outfits. I also especially like your denim shirt with the skirts in #4, both loose and belted.

I like both pieces Harmonica! The boho blouse is a pretty summery piece, and if you are after a more tailored look then your simpler styling as in #2 work quite nicely. But it could serve as a very nice weekend type piece (esp. since you can't return ) with very casual denim bottoms. The denim shirt, to me, looks best when worn as a shirt; all of the ones that have the shirt open I'd much rather see a proper denim jacket for. That will also satisfy your tailoring desires.

These are my new blouse and skirt. They make it easier for me to wear the one pair of dressy trousers and the jeans I have, as well as going with skirts. Though I must admit that I have second thoughts about the blouse (but can't return) - is it just too much going on with the pattern, stripes and flowing feel?

These pics are just outfit drafts and I could need some help picking out the best ones (and deleting all the meh ones), as well as getting some styling tips. I wear scarves all year.

I think my style last year was more boho and whimsical than I aim at now. I like outfits that are a bit more tailored, though still holding on to some sense of RATE, vintage and classics.

#1-2 Blouse, with
- dressy pants
- distressed/patched jeans
- A-line wool skirt (my CK airline skirt)
- pencil

Denim shirt, with
#3 winter flower dress

#4 A-line wool skirt (my CK airline skirt) + belted
#4 pencil + belted

#5 dressy trousers + belted
#5 distressed / patched jeans + belt

Thanks for looking!
