I am a veteran of a number of trips to the "happiest place on earth" - my DH took me long before we had the excuse of children. We go for days at a time . . .

You will get wet and top and pants may become see-through. Make sure you time those rides so that you can dry off a bit after. Cotton does not dry as quickly as most manmade fibers.

Have pockets!! Take a small enough cross body-type that you can tuck it into the little pouch on the roller coasters (California Screamin' - awesome and smooth!).

Buy the current version of the book the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland - it is just fun to read, as well as being incredibly informative. If you are analytical, you will love it; if you are a go with the flow person, just follow its advice. A little planning will make all the difference.

Get up really early and enjoy the big attractions before the crowds get there. Understand and use the Fast Pass system - it is very helpful. Stay up late - the shows and the atmosphere really are magical after dark. How do you do this? Nap in the mid afternoon if your hotel is a reasonable distance.

Buy the mouse ears - they go with everything... Seriously - they put something in the water there that makes you buy crazy stuff. Have a blast!!

Exciting! I have been to Disneyland a number of times and it sounds like you are getting some great advice: extremely comfortable shoes, reliable sunscreen, a sun hat, etc. I just came back from a Caribbean cruise and I took some sleeveless dresses that came from Old Navy (inexpensive because we do not have many days to wear something like this where I live). They were made of a stretchy fabric and were called 'swing' dresses. I am quite modest, so I got spandex bike shorts that came down almost to my knees to wear under these dresses (1 white pair, 1 black pair). That way there was a lot of air flowing but no fear of showing too much, if you catch my drift! Just my little idea...

ETA The fabric of my dresses was called 'jersey'. A cotton dress would work great as well.

The dress is a wicking type fabric. I've never actually been out in the rain in it but I think it would dry fairly quick.

Until a few days ago, it was cold and even snowed a couple of times last week so I was having a hard time imagining 80 again.

I love DIsney. I've not been to the US, but have been to Paris Disney. I always worry about getting wet and then not being able to dry out on log flumes, so I wondered if your knit dress would dry out quickly enough. That said, it has been such a long dark winter in England, that I'm not sure I can remember what 80 degrees feels like - so may be not a concern. Have a lovely time!

Our temps here yesterday were close to 80 for a high but a bit cloudy but I definitely noticed how much cooler it was in the evening when I walked my dogs. I'm thinking of maybe Capri pants instead of shorts for the 2nd day and I'm definitely going to want a light sweater or jacket for the evenings.

Sunscreen is a given as I'm really paleand would probably burn pretty quick.

Rachylou- too funny about your dress. I still remember a couple of my favorite outfits from grade school that I would probably still wear if I could.

Can I reminisce for a moment? It's just that I had a dress that I loved when I was eight that I wore to Disneyland: Navy smocked sundress with little flowers. I'd wear it today with the Ecco sneakers and get a righteous sunburn

Hi, I live about 5 miles from Disneyland. The days can get warm and standing in lines hot. A light dress sounds perfect with sandals or flats. If you plan the exciting rides you may prefer shorts. Bring something warm for the evenings. I believe there are lockers at Disneyland to store things. Have fun and enjoy your trip

The BF asked me to fly out for a trip to Disneyland in 3 weeks! I booked the trip so it's a go. I've never been. I've been to Disney World a few times with my boys but always in the winter. It looks like temps should be upper 70s during the day. I'm planning to bring 2 pairs of shoes - 1 pair of walking sandals from Taos and the Ecco sneakers (worn to Disney World before) but beyond that I'm not sure. Would I look really out of place in a knit dress with capri leggings underneath with the sandals? Otherwise, I do have some longer shorts I could pair with the sneakers and maybe a striped tee and a hat.
