Hi aj, just adding my 2 cents...I agree all three of those jeans look too big--especially in the legs. You can better for sure!

Thanks, everyone. Now that I see the photos and your comments, I can see how baggy these jeans are. I certainly didn't expected I'd need to go down so many sizes. In addition to losing weight, I think that I was wearing jeans that were too big!

I really feel more comfortable in a higher rise. I'll look at Gap and Express as well as trying the Eddie Bauer's in a smaller size. More photos will come once I have a chance to get to the mall!

I'm in grad school and wear jeans all the time, so I need a lot of pairs. With a limited clothing budget and needing 3-4 pairs, I'm not ready to spend the money on premium jeans. But I know YLF gals love them.

aj, those pics were so much more easy to see and you have a lovely figure! Are you attached to your new jeans being from Eddie Bauer? Many of us here are enthusiastic about premium denim...spending a bit more to get more for your money. Some of my favorite pair of jeans flatter my butt and thighs to make them look much "better", as in shape where you want it, than they really are! That's worth it, but not all my jeans cost a lot. Like Sihaya said about the Gap.

aj - try Gap - they have high rise too and I have a feeling they might be a better fit on you. You can also try Express skinnies with the high rise (see my photos posted today in them). They work well on my muffin top.

Thanks aj. I appreciate seeing more detail. It really helps!

I'm with the gals on most of what’s been said:

o	Eddie Bauer jeans – go down a size for sure. Possibly even 2 sizes. They look nice. Do you love your higher rise? I often put women in higher rises for that “girdle effect”. It helps enormously.
o	The skinny jeans are “straight legs” actually. I think you need to go down a size here too. The waistline might not work if you go smaller though. I don’t think this cut is great. It’s too baggy on the leg.

The washes are all fine. Lets sort out the jeans first and then go onto tops. Does that make sense?

I like the skinny jeans best but I also think they are too big and you should try a size smaller.
I'm not that crazy about the Eddie Bauer jeans. There is too much fabric in the front and back. The extra amount of fabric in the front is deal breaker to me. They might look better in a smaller size also.
Do these jeans have spandex in them? If so you can buy them pretty snug.

Hi, aj. Thanks for the second set of pics. I can see detail much better. Do you think you could you go down a size on the jeans? They look like they might be a bit large on you. There is a bit of bagging in the back, and the waistband looks a bit wide? Regarding the wash, darker wash is always smarter, but the lighter wash would work for casual dress.

OK - here are a second set of photos with more light and hopefully easier to see the fit of the jeans Sorry to repeat here but I couldn't figure out how to edit the original post.

Eddie Bauer Curvy Fit Bootcut -- Dark Wash with heels; they feel great.
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0917.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0918.jpg

Same jeans, more of a medium wash. Is this too light? Can I hem a bootcut fit to wear with flats?
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0920.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0919.jpg

Skinny jeans -- do I need a darker wash? What kinds of tops should an hourglass wear with skinnies?
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0921.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0922.jpg

Thanks for your help!

Hi aj...welcome to the forum and good for you for losing weight! Maybe it's me, but I can't see the key areas well enough in the photos to give you an informed opinion. I'm straining to see how well they flatter your figure, and I can't really tell. Is it possible to shed more light on the subject :)?

Well, the title is a bit misleading because I did get Angie's opinion on my body type. But this is my first "real" post asking for advice.

I lost wait this summer and so needed new jeans. Taking into account all the YLF criteria for jeans, I bought three pair today. I still have a few questions about fit and wash. By the way, I'm an hourglass with pear/apple tendencies.

Eddie Bauer curvy bootcut, dark wash: these jeans feel like they fit great, so I hope that they look like they fit well. I'd wear this pair with heels as shown.
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0909.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0910.jpg

A second pair of Eddie Bauer curvy bootcut in a slightly lighter wash. Is this still considered a dark wash? I'd like to hem these pair and a pair of the dark wash to wear with flats. Do bootcuts work with flats? Bootcut is supposed to look best on Hourglasses, but I mostly wear flats. I turned the hem a bit and wore flats in the photo.
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0912.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....0915-1.jpg

Can an hourglass wear straight leg jeans? Angie's description says not, but then everyone seems to be wearing them. Is there a certain kind of top I should wear with straight leg jeans? Is this wash too light?
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0914.jpg
http://i514.photobucket.com/al.....G_0913.jpg

Thanks for any comments and CRS!
