I love seeing your glamorous holiday pictures. The necklace and earrings are lovely and still suit you. I loved your 80’s perm, such soft curls and not the 80’s frizz that was very popular.

Wear your gold jewelry and remember a Paris. I especially like your red cardigan over the turquoise top in #11. I agree with Angie that the red lounge outfit looks too big.

Love the shots from Paris. You have the best jewelry. The chain looks great now and then!

Great pictures from Paris - and fun hair ( I do remember getting perm as well on my fine hair ). My last perm was probably in 1992 ( or 1993 ) - I stopped doing it after my daughter was born.
Your jewelry looks like brand new and very becoming on you! I like
pic # 4 and 6 best.

Such fun pics of Paris back in the '80s!

The era of the perm......it was quite something.....

Fabulous that the chain looks as incredible now as it did back then. WEAR IT. With the earrings. And with a pendant. Why not? - #4, 5 and 6 look great!

I think the red lounge suit looks a size big.

Gold chains and permed hair were all the rage in the late 70s and 80s. I still have this 24" diamond cut gold cable chain from those days, not to mention the big gold earrings. I've wondered if I could still wear them. I do occasionally put a pendant on the chain, but it hangs right in the middle of the bust line. We also wore multiple chains. I was excited to read the chains were coming back, but as usual, it's never quite the same the second time around.

Sorry this is so long: I'm evaluating everything in my closet and drawers.

I start out with a lounging top and pants I bought a couple of years ago on a whim while looking for kids's pjs. I'm just not a lounging outfit person. I just don't wear them. But what if I wore the bottoms alone? Such lovely soft velour. Nope. I've tried the top alone, but it doesn't fit me right. I did find a great use for the top: for jewelry display.

Tried chain with blue Boden top, BR faux leather pants, (they stretch a lot) and the J Crew long cardi, which I didn't like together. Slightly better with the NAS jacket that I haven't worn that much. Maybe I shouldn't let myself get so carried away with the sale--just buy basics.

I decided to add 1 or 2 photos from our first trip to Paris, but I found it difficult to limit them. I wore the chain nearly every day. Also had my hair permed, which I did a number of times until I got a round styling brush so badly entangled I had to cut it out. I went to a salon in San Francisco to get a damage report. Result: no more perms for my fine straight hair. Learn to live with it!

1-6 Figuring out if the chain still works. Maybe not with these clothes.

7-12 Paris with shoulder pads and curly hair. That was an AKII sweater--one of my favorites. Think the pale yellow was a Liz Claiborne.

I still have the pearl ring that shows in #7. #10 is for fun. #13, of course we checked out the Cartier store as well as Chanel. In that era we just window shopped.

I came home fascinated by the art we'd seen and began art history classes at the local community college.
