Got my hair cut in the morning, then had a fun day at a local town event called ‘Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny’.

In ‘celebration’ of a flood on the Ganaraska River that runs down the middle of town, and subsequent engineering work that was done to prevent future floods (due to spring ice jams) the town hosts a boating event before the fishing season opens. Kayaks and canoes first, then decorated ‘crazy craft’ with paddlers in costume. A festival atmosphere with a fair set up on both sides of the river, and a bridge closed to automobile traffic, but open for pedestrians.

It was cold in the am, but temps got up to 12degC.

Hello.

Our temperatures today went from 55F to 81F! Which meant layering a jacket in the morning and a chance to sport a graphic tee for the afternoon.

I choose light blue flare Lucky Brand jeans and dark brown cowgirl boots to finish the outfit. Today's warm afternoon is a sign that I don't have too many more weeks of jeans and boots weather before the hot weather is here!

Thanks for looking!

Hello.

For a Friday WFH day I'm keeping it simple, a pink plaid shirt with a half-tuck into darkest blue Life is Good knit pants, a white tank underneath the shirt for a little extra warmth, and white Asics sneakers. Blue Maui Jim sunnies add a fun extra touch of blue to the outfit.

Hello.

This pink blazer has been on repeat a lot lately and I'm milking it while we have cool spring weather.

Today I paired the blazer with a column of blue denim and white sneakers to finish off the outfit. A white tank to pick up the white of the sneakers added a tiny bit more warmth. Of course, I had to go with my pink Maui Jim sunnies to finish off the look, along with my Hermes reversible belt on the teal side.

When I say Lisa post this pink-on-column-of-denim outfit, I knew I had to try to copy it because I have all the pieces! Fortunately our heat wave has abated so I was able to wear it for a finance committee meeting yesterday for our junior college foundation. Big fun!

Anybody else like to copy outfits from the interwebs?

I was surprised when I saw high vnecks on Angie’s spring/summer 2026 trends. I love a vneck, and have a lot in all different kinds of fabrics and styles. Most are lower, but these 2 are higher, and neither are new, the
#1 is from last year #3 is from 2021. But somehow now i’m trendy.

#1 -2 pink! It’s preppie and giving Ralph Lauren vibes. This was from last year. Worn with my favorite basic jeans

#3-4 one of my best real real buys, worn with one of the best (imo) co-labs that Target has done.

Both outfits wear this week when winter(ish) weather return But not to fear, summer is coming next week

Hello.

I find casual WFH outfits with athleisure wear is a great time to play around with colorful combinations.

Here are a few I've worn lately.

#1 and #2 - Eggshell White and Sage Cream
A soft and pretty combination for spring.

#3 to #5 - Teal and Rust
I often see rust for fall, but why not wear it during spring too? Rust pairs so well with teal and blue.

#6 to #8 - Grey and Green
Classic neutrals paired together.

#9 - Ivory and Rust
The outfit that I said matches my area rug in this post, in action.

#10 - Ivory and Inkwell Blue
The ivory also pairs well with a dark blue.

Hello.

The temps are a little chilly today which gave me a chance to try a layering idea I'd had for a while. I sometimes see tops with built in layers (ie the shirt and knit top are sewn together).

I like the look and thought why not try this idea with a cropped cardigan over a button-up shirt? Since the cardigan is cropped, you see a fair amount of the shirt peeking through. I paired the layered tops with dark wash bootcut jeans and square toe boots to finish the outfit.

Yesterday I introduced the speaker at our weekly Rotary Club meeting, then in the evening we had dinner with friends at the Caltech faculty club. This denim dress (along with my new favorite handbag from Japan) carried me through both events

I know the general rule is "swap out the self belt for a real belt," but when I tried my red belt with this outfit it was too matchy matchy even for me! What say you? Do you agree that matching shoes/belt/bag is maybe a bit much these days?

I am not sure what our consensus was, but I think of them as a classic. So I haven't given up on the style.

A very generous fabber gifted me this AllSaints moto in midnight with silver hardware a while ago. I could not put it on for months due to my sling. But today, the weather was perfect for this jacket so I gave it a trial run.

I began in the more covered up version because the morning was chillier, but ended up taking the sweater layer off.

(Fondly known as NomCom.) It was a dinner meeting at a very old-school white-tablecloth/red-sauce Italian restaurant.

I bought this over-my-budget skirt 10 or 11 years ago with the check for writing a book review for the Boston Globe, so that whenever I wore it I would remember how much better my life was than in my 20s. So it seemed a good occasion to break it out. I swear I thought I steamed it successfully but I guess not so much, lol. The silk knit sweater is possibly even older. Worn/photographed at a restaurant in a small hotel. I wore the fabled orange vintage coat over it because it’s still cold!

Today was a little cooler than the last time I wore the brown jacket with the cantaloupe copped jeans, so I added a chambray button-up shirt and white scoopneck tee underneath. The chambray button-up is thicker material than the white knit button-up was that I wore last time for this outfit.
I busted out my new Issye Miyake handbag for the first time and that was fun -- in the evening I went to choir practice and there was a woman there with an Issye Miyake tote bag in different colors but the same fun geometric construction, and we got to bond over our trips to Japan!

Easter Sunday is one of the few days of the year that I don't feel at all shy about wearing both parts of my bright pink suit together! And I thought the white woven bag was fun because it reminds me of an Easter basket!

Hubby and I went to a fun brunch at the club where we had our wedding and had a good time.

I told him he looked like a giant Peep in his custom-made sport coat from the 24-hour tailor in Hoi An, Vietnam!

We stopped at Trader Joe's afterwards and a random guy in the parking lot looked at us and said "You two win the award for Most Striking Couple!" Haha very nice!!

Anybody else like to let their Easter Egg colors fly on Easter?

Hello to my YLF peeps! Wishing you a happy Easter if you celebrate, and happy Spring! I'm just dressing up for fun--I'm all by myself at home because my daughter's at college, the boys and my husband are going scuba diving for Spring Break, and I have to work on call all next week because I couldn't get the spring break week off (but then I'll get to come see everyone in Seattle next weekend, can't wait!). But I will wear this to work this week!

I pulled this dress out of the back of the closet, I had bought it maybe a year or two ago and it was too late to return it to Tuckernuck. I am not sure why I hadn't worn it yet, but it seemed like a good Easter dress. I had bought a bunch of Alex and Ani x Peeps jewelry and this was the perfect Easter basket grass to showcase the Peeps! I have a stack of bangles with pastel bunny and chick charms, and my favorite is the Easter Egg pendant which opens up and out pops a pink Peeps bunny! Rounding out the outfit are my Rose Sakura bag and Tahitian Pearl Tieks.

Alex and Ani are my new favorite jewelry company because they have lots of kitschy retro nostalgia pop culture theme jewelry to indulge my matchy matchy whimsical themed outfits. Besides the Peeps, I also have some horse, baseball, St. Patrick's lucky charms, and Wizard of Oz themed jewelry sets. They have all kinds of stuff--Barbie, Harry Potter, Hot Wheels, Magic 8 balls, 70's roller skates, etc. And they're relatively affordable, it's kind of like Hot Topic for jewelry, LOL. They're having a 25% off sale right now on their website so I may pick up a few more things. Like the Smarties necklace/bracelet and Sweethearts conversation hearts jewelry are tempting!

Hope you all have a lovely Easter Sunday!

These are mostly pieces you've seen before, but the top is new this year for spring/summer. Yesterday I led a training for my volunteer group and it was in the morning so it was a little cool and I wore my beautifully soft and cozy quilted cotton jacket along with Old Navy pants and the new top. I was in a rush so no time to do my hair -- oops!!

Hello.

Keeping it simple and casual today for running errands.

I layered a White and blue striped LL Bean cotton gauze shirt over a white JCrew vneck tee, Madewell stovepipe blue jeans, and white Asics sneakers. Today the RL reversible belt is worn on the navy side (this reversible belt has become an instant workhorse this season!). A blue Tumi nylon crossbody bag (forgot to photo but in the finds) finished the outfit.

Hello.

Button up shirts, sneakers, and jeans is a go to outfit formula for me in spring.

#1 to #3 - Skinny Jeans and Plaid Button-Up
I like all jean silhouettes including skinny jeans. I paired these Lucky Brand skinny jeans with a Caslon navy knit double breasted blazer, white Gap tank, and Pink/White Plaid button up shirt. White Asics sneakers finished off the outfit.

#4 to #5 - Straight Leg Jeans and Fuchsia Button-Up
A similar outfit, this time with Madewell Stovepipe jeans, a white JCrew short sleeve t, fuchsia Rails Cotton Gauze Button-Up, and the Ecco slip on white sneakers.

Thanks for looking!

And if you like button-up shirts, jeans, and sneakers, I wore a striped shirt outfit in this post.

It's still a little cool here despite the calendar saying "spring," so I am enjoying this new-this-year cotton sweater with the pink stripes! Added the small silk scarf because I'm into that sort of thing these days.

Today I had a meeting with some people at a nonprofit I'm a member of, to work out training for volunteers at our upcoming big project. We were outside quite a bit and it turned out I'd guessed wrong on the weather because it was a little too warm for my flannel shirt. But at least I was comfy in my sneakers!

Anybody else have a hard time predicting the weather this time of year?

I went to an early morning event with some friends - it was about a 1km walk away.

I think this is sporty luxe- silky shirt, smart trousers and sneakers. Dressy and sporty!

I also think it is sporty, elegant, bold and unfussy. Although I note my shirt is not nicely tucked so maybe undone.

The shirt had its first wear and I love it. It’s been a HEWI to find a blue and white shirt that is not too crisp to work under my navy suit. These are my new black pants - sneakers were added in late 2025. Bag is an older favourite.

Thanks for looking.

Hi, sorry I haven't been posting in a while, it's been super busy with work and kids! I have a big backlog--lots of outfit collections to post when I get more time. I've been working through lots of fun themes (Valentine's, Lunar New Year, etc). Anyways, I thought I'd try a quick "what did I wear best" floral dress post.

I initially bought this AllSaints burgundy floral dress on sale and wore it with my Burberry burgundy trench in the winter. I recently bought a fuchsia coat that is great for transitioning to spring/summer and it works with a lot of my wardrobe (will post a outfit collection with the coat). And I've been on a pink kick so I've been wearing the pink bag and pink ballet flats a lot. The fuchsia coat works with the burgundy dress too.

Because I can't resist buying multiples of tried and true outfits, I also bought the light blue version of the floral dress. I figure the burgundy is good for fall/winter and light blue is more of a spring/summer (but I still plan to wear both year round).

I wanted to try something new, so I paired it with an army green jacket from rag & bone that I got on sale. It's a Japanese wool military inspired jacket. Normally I would have bought the black because it's more my color than green/olive, but I felt like the army green was more interesting than the black and matches the military details of the coat. I paired the army green jacket with Doc Marten combat moto boots to lean into the military vibe. And called in the cavalry with a horseshoe necklace, horse bracelet and equestrian leather Hermes bracelet. And used a slouchy burgundy hobo messenger saddlebag. I like how the frilly floral dress contrasts with the tough military jacket and boots. The other outfits are purely feminine.

What do you think? Which version is your favorite, 1, 3/4, or 5/6?
Can I pull off the less flattering colors like baby blue, pastel pink and olive green, or should I stick with deep autumn colors like fuchsia and burgundy?

rag & bone army green jacket
AllSaints floral dress in vine lake blue and burgundy
Doc Marten boots
AllSaints bag
Argento Vivo horseshoe necklace
Alex and Ani horse bracelet
Hermes white and rose gold Rivale double tour bracelet
Hermes fuchsia short parka coat
Hermes Evelyne 23 Rose Sakura
Tieks Pink Ribbon ballet flats (and old Halogen Valentino knockoff studded blush pink flats)
Stella and Dot necklace and bracelet--eBay finds (I love wearing the spiky bracelet with florals, like roses and thorns).

The Helly Hansen short trench arrived remarkably quickly and I tried it on again yesterday and this morning.

First photos are again with wide leg jeans. It looks a bit brighter in these photos than IRL because it was sunny and also I had to increase exposure due to the window situation The colour in #6 is slightly greyer than IRL. Somewhere in between is the true colour. Not my absolute best, but it I think it is okay.

This morning I put it on with a skirt to see how that would work and ended up wearing it out the door. It rained this afternoon as I was walking home, so I guess I'm keeping it!

Worn over oversized cardigan -- it fits fine that way.

It's quite a nifty little jacket! The hood is fabulous. Adjustable and removable.

Today I opted for cantaloupe cropped skinny jeans from Kut from the Kloth, paired with a white Caslon button up knit shirt that is super soft, a Kut from the Kloth faux suede jacket in a muted brown, RL reversible belt on the tan side, white Asics sneakers, and brown aviator Maui Jim sunglasses.

Hello.

I'm really enjoying these cropped pink with navy striped pants lately. The pink is such a fun and happy color for spring.

Today I paired the Gap cropped pink and navy striped pants I picked up from consignment with a White Vneck JCrew Vintage Jersey short sleeve tee, Caslon Navy Knit one button blazer, RL belt on the navy side, and White Ecco Slip on leather sneakers.

I love to buy clothes on vacation, and I picked up this plaid tulle skirt and silvery bomber jacket in a little shop in Japan on my recent trip. I wore them today to my Rotary Club luncheon with an older chambray shirt (You can't see in the photo, but there is a demin inset at the waist in back of the skirt), navy loafers, and blue bag (LV bought in Paris).

Photo 3 is what I wore to a dinner meeting last night -- the moto jacket is from a couple of years ago, the black coulottes jumped out of a store window in Seoul and followed me home about ten years ago, and the leopard shirt was bought onboard the cruise ship on this most recent vacation. Oh, and the Gucci bag is a souvenir from Florence!

Anybody else like to buy clothes on vacation?
