Zappos order...

Grrr. It's disappeared. It was supposedly delivered to my front door two days ago. I've walked all around the house, checked with neighbors - nothing! I fear it was delivered to the house with a similar address (has happened before - but usually a USPS issue, when they have holiday people on who aren't familiar with our neighborhood). Unfortunately, that house is in process of being renovated, nobody is living there, and it is filled with construction workers who are in and out all day long....

So I'm fearing one of them took it home for their size 6.5 foot wife or girlfriend. :-(

Zappos is calling USPS now. Cross fingers it gets sorted.

Oh that stinks! If anyone is going to take good care of you though it is ZAPPOS! Their customer service is second to none!

That REALLY sucks Shiny. At least take comfort in the fact that Zappos will get it sorted, even though it's still annoying and inconvenient.

I just realized that I was home at the time they said it was delivered. Not only home, but right outside. I never saw any UPS truck on our block at that time. Sigh...

Oh no! Zappos is so good (at least they have been, but now they've been bought by somebody, right?) that I'm sure they'll figure it out with you.

I think Amazon bought Zappos, but they are usually fairly customer-friendly as well, so I hope they figure this out for you.

Don't you hate waiting for an online order to arrive? It makes me feel like a little kid counting down to Christmas...

Not yet - the local UPS called me back on Friday, but we'd already left for the evening. The office is closed for the weekend. Zappos never called me back, so I am assuming that they are waiting for UPS to talk to me.

Meanwhile, I asked around to all my neighbors, nothing. We did finally talk to the new owners at the house with similar address, but they said they never saw it. The house is under reno and there's construction people in and out all day.

There's no possible way it was delivered to our house and then disappeared, as we were in and out several times before, during, after the time they claim it was delivered.

Shiny, ask to see the signature, you may recognise the name of the person who accepted the parcel. I also think it has reached the point where Zappos should resend the item and reclaim their costs from UPS. It was there mistake and your the one out searching, it doesn't seem fair to me.

It's been sorted!

Called UPS, then called back Zappos. Apparently the Zappo's rep I talked to on Friday was supposed to call me back to reship the order. Since he didn't, the sales rep I talked to this morning not only reshipped, but gave me a $30 coupon and invitation to their new VIP site which gives me free upgraded shipping forever.

That's the good news: the bad news is that the violet suede pair is no longer available in my size. I knew that was the case, because I'd ordered the last pair. But at least I'll be getting my zebras!

Wow, I'm always amazed at Zappo's amazing customer service. That's why they're so successful! I'm glad they took care of the problem so well, Shiny! Yay for shoes and VIP status!

Rose, they didn't ask for a signature. UPS policy is that if they drop it in a "safe place" at the front door, they don't need a signature.

Oh Shiny- too bad about the one pair, but at least they resolved it. UPS is horrible- they don't knock or anything. Maybe it will still turn up. I had a package once that said it was delivered but wasn't, and it showed up a few days later.

Chewy, it is possible it was never delivered and perhaps it will turn up, but this was way back on Wednesday. :-(

Sorry you'll be missing your violet suede shoes, but you will love the zebras! I can't stop wearing mine with everything. They're just fun and comfortable! Hope they make it to your house soon!

I got my shoes!

Unfortunately, the left one makes an awful, loud, funny noise when I walk. Boof, did yours do this? And if so, did it eventually stop once you wore them in a bit?

I am fearing it is a defective pair, since the right shoe does not do this. And it seems the part where it is making the noise is cut slightly higher than it is on the right shoe.

I called Zappos back and held the phone to my foot as I walked around. They could hear the sound over the phone - it's that loud! Unfortunately, they are all sold out of the zebra in my size, so there's no replacement. They are sending me the giraffe, then I can decide whether to keep the giraffe or pray that the zebras eventually soften up enough to stop making the noise.

Zappos has been great, but this is just so depressing. :-(

Also it makes me wonder how many lurkers on YLF see us talking about something here, and snap it up! Because I also decided (after giving it 24 hours to think about) to order the ponte knit Inc pants, only to find they are now sold out of my size in the black. And they are not available in any Macy's store nearby. Grrr. I ended up ordering in the gray, which they did have. I am figuring that these pants, if they fit, will be great to wear on the 24 hour plane trip to HK?

Meanwhile, I convinced Jane to give Me-Too's a shot, and she stalked down a pair of the Nini's at discount. We had fun surfing together through endless sites looking at Me-too's. :-)

Shiny, I'm so sorry! That stinks. No, my shoes don't make any noise. Maybe wear them around the house for a bit and see if it goes away? I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm guessing you have petite little feet and they don't stock as many shoes in your size. Bummer. I had a tough time deciding between the giraffe and the zebra. The giraffes look great, too. Do you wonder if someone is wearing your original zebra and violet suede shoes? :o) I've definitely noticed that items mentioned on the forum get snapped up. If I take time to think about a purchase, it disappears!
