Shall we play again?

This email is pretty much a repeat from last year. We have a lot of new and very active forum members who'll hopefully join in the fun too. I am sure there will be glitches as always But we got there in the end last year.

What is YLF Secret Santa and how to play:

- random pairs of YLFers will be selected, after which each member gets the postal address of *only* her drawn pair, for whom the gift (ETA: we spend reasonable amount, nothing too much) should be prepared and posted on time. We'll all open our gifts together on the same day across the globe, show them and of course have loads and loads of fun at every stage of the game.

What next?

  • In a few days I'll start a separate thread with the instructions how to join the game - please wait for that thread.
  • In the meantime, make sure you have active Elfster account you can access - some of you have it already, some will need to register. For those unfamiliar with it, Elfster is a separate website we use to draw up random pairs of gifters and giftees, exchanging wish lists, we can communicate anonymously with our drawn pair to find out a bit more what'd they like to receive, and other useful info too;
  • YLFs forum members and players are scattered across the globe, therefore take some time to think whether you want to to post abroad as the overseas postage can be steep. Last year we had two groups of participants - posting to US-only or internationally. It will stay that way this year as well. Last year I also did a small survey to find out whether creating additional sub-groups would make sense, but based on that sample there is not enough participants to justify the effort in managing many groups.
  • Please don't send any PMs yet expressing your wishes to participate. When I post the complete instructions and dates, we'll get the ball rolling.

Thanks for reading.
