I saw a light yellow button-down shirt that I love. I haven't worn yellow in years, and hope it will look good up near my face. It's a pale yellow. Does anyone else wear yellow? Just wondering how to style it.

I don't like how I look in yellow, so I avoid it, personally. I'm always a little amazed at how popular citron is around here because I think it's not an easy color to wear. I'm not much of a fan of sour colors *on me*. Why don't you post a pic of it for some styling suggestions?

I always feel fresh in yellow, but it every yellow. I think citron and chartreuse work on a variety of people because there is some blue in the color for those with cooler skin tones. I have always worn pale gold as my yellow but have added citron and love it. There are lots of shades and saturations of yellow to play with, textures too that cast a shadow.
I especially like yellows with greys and with navy, often with a bit of white.

A pale yellow like that looks nice with white, dove grey, and shades of blue, for a start.

I like the decorating style of having a yellow piece in your rooms...For my house yellow works...For me, not so well...I just don't look great in yellow....

It's been so long since I've worn yellow that I honestly don't know if it looks good on me or not. If it's the pale yellow I think it is, it will probably be really good.

The J. Jill blouse is very pretty and looks like it would be comfy. Would you wear it casually or for work? If casually, it would look great with blue, white, or grey denim.

Re wearing yellow, you'll have to try it and see. Perhaps you could wear a scarf in a flattering color if you think the yellow doesn't look quite right near your face.

I am that way with yellow too, crutcher. Yellow sofa, but don't like wearing it. I find it "acidic." Yet... I like to look at it. I'm often attracted to yellow clothing in stores.

Windchime, I like the scarf idea. I'm thinking of wearing it casually, but maybe to work if I really like how it looks on me. I ordered the yellow tank to wear underneath it, just in case it's too sheer.

I only have a mustard yellow tee at the moment in yellow. I wear it with red lippie and do get compliments, one of those combinations that on the surface sounds awful but works really well. I don't look like Michelle Williams but her Oscar look with mustard and red lipstick is one of my most memorable.

I would wear this soft yellow mostly with blue denim I suspect. I like it with white too, and agree grey could be wonderful. I think softer lighter colours that are not pastels would work - even olive/army green. I am not so keen on pale yellow with black or brown.

Thanks, Kiwigirl. Denim blue seems to be the most obvious choice, and that's probably what I'll start with.

I LOVE yellow. I wear a lot of yellow especially golden yellow tones. However, I have a very warm colouring. Golden skin, golden blonde hair and gold flecks in my eyes (they are teal coloured).

The yellow on the shirt you posted looks more like a yellow for cooler toned people. I think it would look great with all the colours suggested above especially denim.

Style Fan, I'm a Sci-Art soft autumn, which is cooler than one would think. If this yellow is what I think it is, it will be okay. There is a yellow like it in the color fan. The problem with online ordering is that you're never quite sure what color it is until you get it. For example, I sent back a "navy" dress yesterday because it was actually purple. There was no mistaking it for navy, either. The yellow shirt and tank are backordered and expected to ship on Feb. 25th, so I'm going to have to wait a while to find out.

I have a bright yellow (not citron, more sunflower) clutch and it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. I don't wear yellow tops much but using this as a pop of color really works for me.

I saw this yellow while with a friend at JJill last week. It is actually brighter in real life than it appears on my screen, but still not too bright like a lemon yellow. There were lots of pieces in this yellow. I think it was shown with navy and white. It is more of a medium yellow to me than a pastel.

That's good to know, Joy. If it's not a bright yellow, it may work, as I look better in colors that aren't too light. I thought about pairing it with navy and ivory, but will have to wait until it gets here to see what I think of the color in terms of flattering my skintone and working well with other pieces in my wardrobe.

I don't have any yellow in my closet. I saw of lot of citron in magazines for S/S15, but it is just not me. I do like it on others thought, especially when combined with soft grey.
