Yay or nay: grey gap girlfriend jeans

Have been wanting to try these for a while and my gap finally got them in stock. On me they fit like a slim straight. They are mid rise by the way for those who are looking for a nice moderate rise option.
Fabric is pretty good, 99% cotton. Feels like it might stretch out a bit. There is some light distressing but no holes and the color is good. Not acid washed looking like a lot of too distressed grey jeans.
What do you think of the length? They come rolled up to the length in #1 and the other 2 pics are unrolled all the way.

Diana, thank you for this review. I really like them on you and like what I can see of the color. So many grey jeans look dirty to me, but these don't. Is the denim heavy or a more light weight for summer? I like them both down and rolled.

They look like skinnies to me, Diana. Fab though. I like them a lot, and the length too. Did you also try a size up?

I think they fit you really well and like the wash on you. But they look like skinnies to me, not like relaxed GF jeans, so if you are after a more relaxed look, I would size up.

Size up was falling off at the top and I don't want to always have to wear a belt. I'm ok with skinny as long as we don't think they look sausagey. I suspect they'll relax a bit after wearing a couple of hours.
I would say they're like a medium weight denim.

Joy, I agree a lot of grey washes just look dirty. And for some reason a lot have dark stitching on the pockets which just looks off to me. These are clean looking which I like.

They pass the sausage-casing test, Diana. They will definitely relax after a few hours too. My thumbs are up.

Like the colour - I've been eyeballing their girlfriend cut too but haven't tried them on yet. I think they are supposed to be a more relaxed cut - and I see above that you've tried the next size up. Again, like the colour and length, but feel they should be looser.....

I have these in the "modern bright" wash (the light denim with no distressing) and love them. I'm wearing them right now and they are super comfy. Different fabrication though....mine have some poly in them. In my normal size they were very slouchy. I sized down as recommended in reviews and I'm glad I did. They start snug but loosen up into a relaxed but not too slouchy fit.

I haven't tried the gray ones. I would recommend sitting in them for a while....tags on....to see what they do. In my experience, all Gap jeans stretch to varying degrees.

Went back and bought them. Thanks, everyone. I'll definitely wear them around the house for a couple of hours before cutting the tags to see how much they stretch. I wouldn't mind if the leg loosened up a bit but I don't want the waist to get too big.

By the way my gap had an in store $25 off $75 promotion that works on jeans (I added a pair of socks to get to 75) unlike all the online codes.

I would say go for them if they are going to stretch a bit. Great color and the length is good.

Let us know how they wear. I really liked the fit of the darker wash pair as well but the whiskering was a deal breaker. I hope they come out with a nice clean, dark pair.

I'm late, but wanted to add I really like them on you! They are like some skinnies I recently got, and I like that length. Long enough to wear down with flats, sandals, oxfords, etc., easy to tuck into boots, and they also roll nicely. Love the color on you.

Ha! So THAT is how the GF are supposed to fit. They look a heck of a lot better on you than they did on my daughter. On her, they were a complete disaster. We literally couldn't figure out what was going on with them. But she is a sort of rectangle.

I like these on you and suspect they'll relax a bit.

I love the color. Light enough not to seem wintry but deep enough be interesting, flattering, and good for people like me who don't feel comfortable in super light colors.

I have a pair of Gap skinnies (Always Skinny, thrifted) and they grow about two sizes with wearing.

The last thing you look is like a sausage. You look great and they fit you well um espically from the rear view.

They are so cute! And skinny but not sausage-y. I hope they loosen up in the ways you want; I hate it when trousers that fit well in the morning are falling halfway down my hips by the end of the day. Drives me nuts!

Okay, I may be the spanner here. I wear my skinnies tight and these look that way to me. So I like them but to my eye they look like what others here call sausage-y (which is my preference!). Also the knees have that funny wrinkle which may not be an issue IRL.

They may well loosen up a bit as Gap tends to do and that sounds like what you want!
