Would you wear navy and black together?

I always feel that navy and black is kind of iffy. This blouse is more of lighter navy color so I think its ok with black but tell me what you think. How do you feel about navy and black together?

As a general rule, I wouldn't, but there is an exception to every rule and you have found it. The white necklace brightens things up very nicely too.

Wearing those 2 colors together is iffy only if the navy is so dark it looks like black and others get the impression that you can't tell the 2 colors apart. The navy you're wearing in the photo is great because, while dark, it is clearly distinguishable from the black. I agree with JR that the necklace brightens up the outfit nicely.

Very definitely I would! I think Yves St Laurent comprehensively debunked the myth that they shouldn't be paired when he started regularly putting black and navy together in his haute couture range. Both Catherine Deneuve, his long-time muse, and Inès de la Fressange, probably two of the world's most elegant women, have been doing it regularly ever since, to highly chic effect, IMO! (As you do! :-))

I have always adhered to the "no navy with black" rule because I have seen it done badly too many times. HOWEVER, this really works!

You have definitely broken the rule successfully! I think that the denim aspect really makes this work. Thank you for making me rethink this.

I never used to wear the two together, and I'm personally a little hesitant to do it (just lingering prejudice). This looks fantastic on you, though! I would definitely wear this combo. You look fantastic in it.

YES and double YES. You look great. It is one of my favorite combos and probably I do less than I'd like because it's hard to find really good navy things. But you have totally succeeded. Fab!!

I never owned navy until this year, not counting a skirt I bought of eBay described as black that was in fact navy lol. I've paired my ink dress with charcoal and taupe leggings, but not black yet. I have designs to do just that though, so Yes over here

I never wore the two together until I did it by mistake one day (don't ask....). I ended up liking it so much that I've done it several times since. I think you've made it work!

Absolutely. This works very well on you, particularly because of your dark hair color. I am blonde, so with navy/black combo, I tend to need a pop of cream/white to go with it, such as a pearl necklace. Your necklace works here to similar effect.

Also when wearing navy and black together, I go for TEXTURE. If the items are all one texture, it doesn't work quite as well. So if pants are matte, blouse might be silky/shiny. With suede shoes or boots. Or a velvet blazer.

You aren't showing your shoes -- snake skin with blue tones would be to die for with this combo!

May I first say that that necklace is most amazing? I love it!
I like the navy and black that you're wearing. I'm just dipping my foot in the stream with this color combo. I like it when the accessories are the "other" color. When black and navy are both in the clothing, I like a print to bridge the gap. It also helps if the navy is bright enough so that people know it was intentional. I still have a lot to learn though.

I really like this outfit on you. Navy and black is a combo I'm just beginning to wear and appreciate. I actually haven't had any blue (except denim) in my wardrobe for years until this summer. I'm so into black and I didn't think navy/indigo in a fabric other than denim would work with black. I'm glad to be learning otherwise! BTW - gorgeous necklace!

I really dislike color combination cliches: they are so limiting! Navy and black look great together and so do dark brown and black ( another taboo )!

Yes! In fact I'm wearing them together today with a black & white leopard print added. Navy with black makes even a navy casual tank and black walking shorts outfit look more sophisicated.
