Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Would this make a good first 'LBD' ?

I really like the looks of this dress - would it make a good first LBD?

I realize it's not exactly season-less, more fall/wintery - but I like the way it looks. What does everyone think about it's possibilities as a first attempt at an interesting LBD ?

Or is something simpler better?

That's really gorgeos. It looks like you could dress it up and down. If it gets cold where you are, a winter LBD seems like a good idea.

Just some random thoughts: If this dress fits you perfectly and you have a beautiful neck, it could be a knockout. However, when I think of a LBD, I think of a simple dress that is a basic canvas to which can be added a variety of jackets, scarves, jewelry, footwear, even tops or skirts over it, to achieve an infinite variety of looks. This dress doesn't strike me as versatile in that way. A short necklace would work as the neckline showcases a beautiful neck and throat. Some scarves might work. Jackets would need to not compete with the neckline.

That is a beautiful dress. I agree with Joy, though. It wouldn't be as versatile as something like a simple sheath. But it depends on what you want to do with an LBD!

Stunning frock! I've seen it on.

That's really pretty; you'd have to see if the neckline worked for you, of course, but it's a lovely dress and worth trying!
