Is that a contradiction in terms or what?!

Three outfits from this week;

1. Joe Fresh denim dress with oxblood oxfords. I got some compliments on this... it photographs like it's a wrinkled mess but hopefully is less so IRL.

2. Camo and pink Halogen flats. ON top, F21 necklace.

3. BR drapey pants, old Zara animal print shirt fished from donate bag, Allsaints studded flats. My idea of slouchy and BR's idea of slouchy are quite different, but these pants are comfy and easy to wear. I think I may order another pair in a different color one size up. Thanks to whomever suggested them!

It' s all good. The Joe Fresh dress rocks. Love the flats and wish I had had the presence of mind to look at Nords shoe department when I was there the other day. I am such a useless little shopper. Messy and crammed sale racks and I am outta there.

I love the Joe Fresh dress too, does not seem overly wrinkled to me. And 3 looks easy but one size up will probably get you closer to slouchy. To me, look 2 is amazing and especially what your hair is doing! It looks really chic and works well with the very modern sleek look and shoes. I really love this.

It takes a lot of effort to look effortless. Love all of these especially no 2. No 1 is making me think I really "need" a pair of oxfords. So great with the dress. Hmmm...

I had to laugh at the title because I often "try" to look effortless. You've pulled that off quite nicely here. My fav is #1, that dress looks fantastic on you.

Love the first two. The first particularly has the effortless despite so much effort look. I am not crazy about the top in the third - especially with your new hair color. I found I like browns less on me now too. Maybe I am projecting?

Yes, a bit of an oxymoron right?

#2 is an absolute standout for me because of the way the cool camo print picks up your hair colour. Wow. It pops and looks amazing!!!

I love that JF dress on you! The blue is amazing on you. But #2 is amazing -- the camo picks up your hair colours, the pink modern shoes are a great juxtaposition, and it's just so unexpected and fun!

I think Shevia may have a point about your colour palette changing just a bit with the hair. Browns may not work as well as in the past, but since you were already mostly in the greys and blacks, it won't be a huge loss. Blues will be working better.

Love that dress! I wish it were cool enough here to wear something like that in summer but I think I'd be much too warm. #2 is really exceptional on you with the coloring and I agree the warmer colors in #3 are trickier now with your haircolor. I still wear some warm colors even though I have a lot of white/gray mixed into the blonde, but it feels like I have to pick and choose more carefully going forward.

More love for 1 and 2. You have succeeded in effortless dressing. I don't know why I don't feel that 3 is quite as fab. Have you tried semitucking the shirt? I don't think it is the color. Do you have brown eyes?

Shevia and Suz, agreed! I have never worn browns. I liked this top for its breezy tunic-ish length, but it doesn't feel good on me. I pulled it out of the donate bag because it went well with olive. But it's the only item I own in the brown color family, and I think it's going back to the donate bag.

Heh. Effortless is such an elusive quality. It only seems to happen when certain well-worn pieces come together in a magical combination. You did all your thinking beforehand and they just happened to come out of the closet in the right order on the day.

Anyway. Looks pretty swell to me. I am seriously coveting your sunglasses. Again.

All three look good to me. The second in particular, because it feels like both a departure AND true-to-Una somehow. For the third, I don't mind the warmth of the top IF you can echo some silver more strongly elsewhere, say in the footwear. The trousers are probably slouchy compared to a very tailored fit, no? They look fluid to me
