Wiww - to a 70s party.

Hiya, going to a 70s party tomorrow for a fortieth birthday ... I didn't want to do the disco thing so I sort of went with a late hippie/Ali McGraw/earth tones mishmash ... What do you think? I might be veering a little 60s but I'm hoping I'm hitting early 70s. Any quick tricks to 70s it up? Hair and makeup ideas? Hoping I can borrow tall brown boots from a friend but the short ones might have to do. Thx for any help or feedback!!

Some of my memories of the early 70's were mini length frocks, hot pants, Matchy tops and bottoms, pale lipstick, lots of black eye makeup for a big eyed look, flared and bell bottom pants and jeans. You look great.

Yes… I am laughing out loud as this is something I would have worn in high school in the early 70's… bold boho/Moroccan print minidress with opaque pantyhose (mine had peace signs). Back then, I probably would have worn this outfit with clogs… but I think the boots look even better. We girls all wore our hair long, straight and parted in the middle. (You are right. Ali McGraw/Love Story Look for hairstyle was all the rage.) I think your outfit is right on! Oh yes Carter -- fringe purse would be fab!!!

Either bright or dark tights would be great. (Teal would be fun, but the ones you are wearing in the pic are super too.) I think I actually had a teal pair. My favorite pair (with the peace signs) was purple. Gosh -- you are going to look perfectly '70's! Good job!!!

Early 70s fabness. A crochet or suede bag could also go with folksy vibe.
