Thank you, everyone! Interesting...some like the fit, and some do not. Well, for $35 (I got them for 30% off the sale price) I can probably afford the experiment of keeping them, and I must say, they're comfortable. And the length is good -- providing they don't shrink. Even then, as Tanya said, I could always turn them into shorts. Or do as Ceit suggests and wear them rolled as clams.
Eliza, I also like the colour. I think it is called olive but you're right -- it's almost like a sage. So it works pretty well with other stuff in the closet.
Ornella, you are too smart for words!! SO right of you. I need to try these pants with what I'd wear them with. DUH!!! I might actually wear them with the leather jacket, believe it or not -- with a T or short sleeve shirt underneath. The jacket breathes surprisingly well. But I probably wouldn't wear them with the denim military jacket, not buttoned up, anyway, and I'd be much more likely to wear them without a jacket at all. I might wear a button down (I do wear those during the time when I'd be reaching for these pants) so I think that's okay. Although this one looks a bit odd to me in the photos - though it's partly the darn angle.
Of course my wardrobe hole for tops now raises its ugly head. If I had the right tops, maybe I could style these pants better.
Krish, thank you for your honesty. I am glad you spoke up. I have some misgivings about the fit of these, too. I actually like the slouch quite a lot, but the pocket placement and angle is peculiar on them (obscured a bit in the photos because I kept putting my hands in the pockets, as I'm prone to do.) I suspect you are right that I could find a better fitting pair, or even a more intentionally-looking slouchy pair. But I also think they'll be part of my "at home" capsule, pretty much. So perfection may not be the goal.
