WIW: wild card and sparkles - YouLookFab Forum

This year has been dedicated to bold wardrobe items. After years of safe, neutrals like black, grey and white with the occasional green or blue, I have bought clothes with bold solid colours and bold pattern. It feels liberating and fun.

Sorry for being MIA. Life is crazy. :-\

Sorry for the poor lightning.

- Yellow wool sweater with side split and high/low hem. I usually like bold colours more on the sour or cold side, but I didn't realize before I got home. I think the light in the shop could have affected my perception of the colour. Anyway, I love the shape of this sweater and its versatility. And it feels incredibly soft, cosy and warm.

- Sparkling and flirty A line skirt with an elastic waist band. Only worn once or twice since I bought it a year ago. I've been struggling with how to dress it down, not feel like a Christmas tree and still feel pulled together.

I do like this combo.

- Black leather boots with buckles, very low heel

- blue bag

Just want to add that I was originally on the search for a classic v neck wool sweater, possibly cable knit, in an iceblue or orange/tangerine colour.

By accident I tried on this yellow one by the Italian(?) brand MSGM, I think. I thought it looked shapeless and meh on the hanger, but the colour got my attention. Quite unlike most of my tops.

Looks great!
I love the combination of a soft fluffy sweater to "tone down" sparkles. Works with skirts that are sparkly, or taffeta, or tulle or other "fancy" materials. Your boots are great for that, too.

I like this combination--a kind of pseudo-gray and yellow--- and it looks great on you. The boots are so nice with that shape and length of skirt.

This is fab! I love the shape and drape of your sweater and that shade: Wow! I wish I could wear yellow this well, it's such a delightful but elusive colour. I love the line of the skirt too! Looks like it has a nice texture to offset the sparkles.

Sara L: Neutrals go well with a sparkly skirt. I find it difficult to combine my tops with the flirty Aline shape, also because of the elastic waist band. I've tried most of my tops, but I don't feel good about how the mid section look.

Kim, Aliona: I'm thankful that I can wear yellow and other bold colours. I will definitely expand my wardrobe with colours like tomato red, orange and cobalt.
