Angie suggested I pair my taupe pencil skirt, which had fallen out of favour, with white as that seems to be my favourite summer colour these days. Boy was she right!!!

Today's outfit started with my taupe pencil skirt and my taupe/white/pink silky tee. Gotta give myself a pat on the back because I couldn't fit this tee three months ago.

I added my bone/silver sandals and a pink vintage Bakelite bangle to pick up the bits of pink in the tee. Then I popped on my white blazer, scrunched the sleeves and BAM...loved the outfit AND the skirt. Thanks Angie I'm using my large cream handbag and wearing a swipe of bright pink lipstick to round out the outfit.

I also have to give special thanks to Parsley who convinced me a white blazer could and would be a workhorse for me and to MaryK, who constantly inspires me with her white blazer outfits.

What do you think? Has this skirt been saved? How do the proportions of the longer blazer with the shorter skirt look to your eye? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Yes, yes, yes. Save the skirt! It looks spectacular with that tee, and the blazer is the icing on the cake. ( I think I have mentioned how I covet those shoes)

I'm so pleased you like this as much as I do! And yes, the skirt has been saved and will be staying.

Suz - I let the hem down on this skirt myself. Just used a stitch ripper and took apart the hem and let it down about 3/4 inch - that's all the seam allowance would allow giving me enough fabric to give a proper hem, which I then just stitched by hand. It's funny how just that extra bit made me feel so much better in this skirt. IMHO it's worth a try in your case.

This outfit is perfection, gorgeous colors here. And fun details with the print and two tone shoes. My white blazer is a workhorse pieces, oddly enough in the winter months. I really enjoying pairing it with grey once the weather cools down.

Taupe and I aren't on the best of terms, but I sure like what it does for my YLF sisters! This is a knockout look, and one you should repeat. I like the way taupe lends an air of professional class to the white. So perfect for the Summer office!
