After talking to Angie in my last post about my complicated relationship with white, I decided to go for the white out today (the topper isn't white, but it was the most neutral/low contrast item I could find to cover the tank.)

Late last night I acted on something that I was pretty sure wouldn't be Angie-sanctioned (which is why I didn't ask for advice) and dunked my linen CAbi tank and Ralph Loren white skinnies in tea. I just wasn't wearing them because the white was so bright. I'm thrilled with the outcome! They are a barely noticeable softer white, but just enough to knock back the starkness. My biggest issue is getting white to not clash with what I am going for in my hair, which is platinum.

I had so many compliments today - both on my outfit and on my hair - which tells me that this was a win. I have worn these pieces before, usually separate but once together with a different cami and topper, and never have they garnered as much of a reaction as they did today. This validated my gut reaction to be careful of what shade of white I wear, while at the same time Angie's advice to wear more white!

In a different post where I showed my before and after hair and makeup (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ie-caillat) Caro mentioned that she would like to see an in-between look on my makeup, so today's face is for her. I thought that all of the light colors and low contrast called for a lighter eye. I tend to get comments often when I wear less eye makeup that maybe I'm sick or exhausted, but today the comments were overwhelmingly positive and focused on the outfit and hair. (My boss did send me home early because I looked exhausted, but I'm choosing to believe that is because I am actually recovering from the flu and truly exhausted, and not because of my makeup.).

I threw in some extra photos to try to show the makeup and also in an attempt to show the hair color (as it relates to my ability to wear white). I'm also showing the handbag I used today (Etienne Aigner Salvation Army find for $12) but I do think that in a perfect world, tan or cognac leather would have been better. I just didn't have the energy to change purses this morning.

Thanks so much for the extra nudges to keep experimenting outside of my comfort zone! It helps me so much to be brave and try things... Honest assessments and advice are most welcome!
