I've had this lovely jacket for a year now, and despite loving it and never regretting the money I invested in it, I have not managed to turn it into as versatile a piece as I had hoped.

It is a soft gold metallic linen and cotton blend, with a black wool inset down the side and inside the sleeve. Double vented back, very sharply tailored and I love the fit. However, all I do with it is wear it with this cream/black Joie silk blouse and with black bottoms. Perhaps it's not the best colour for me - being too close to the colour of my skin - and a plain black t or tank looks kind of dead and plain underneath. I feel confined a bit by the black inset in terms of adding in colour - do I need to be?

I would like to roughen it up a bit to wear with jeans and either black leather slip on sneaks or booties -and would LOVE some ideas for what to wear as a top underneath.

Thoughts of all kinds welcome and accepted !
