So you might have seen a distinct lack of colour from me in my outfits lately. Looking at my outfits last year, I realized that one thing I was moving away from was bright, saturated colour combos (My J Crew comes to Canada phase) in favour of creamy, soft neutrals. However, sunny summer days always make me want to show the brighter side of my personality, so yesterday I did one of my old and previously signature colour combos: candy pink, tomato red, aqua and cobalt.

How about you? Do you revert to older style personas occasionally?

Also: what do you think about this candy pink sweater? I am not sure it suits my colouring. Keep? Donate?

Love it! I always wear my Tippis much more fitted but you are making me re-think. I might try one a size or two up for this look; it's great!!

@viva - funny you should say that...I bought about 20 tippis (!) after the birth of my first and wore them to work all the time. I bought them more relaxed because I still had some weight to lose. Now I've gone done about 2 sizes and these Tippis are languishing in my closet bc i think they look sloppy and I'm gravitating to a much more tailored look these days. So I'm still trying to figure out if I shoudl reintegrate them into my wardrobe or simply let them go...(the downside to buying duplicates!!)

It looks like it works fine with your coloring and it's really wonderful with that coral skirt. I'd keep if it combines well with your other neutrals.

I like all of these pieces and think the colors are great on you. No need to commit to all neutrals, all the time.

I love this outfit. The colours are fab and I really like the teal necklace with it.
I'm doing a lot of tippi sweaters this summer (the short sleeve kind) in bright colours. I dont like brights in the winter at all.

I think the sweater fits, and looks good with tight bottoms. I would would keep them while you add in some tighter ones.

Gosh I think this is beautiful and i like the contrast of a slightly slouchy sweater with a pencil skirt. Not so bombshell.

Wow - what a lovely outfit! It would never occur to me to wear a sweater any more fitted than that - but that's just me, always in hide-the-body mode. I think it looks perfect as is! And that colour combination is so pretty

Wonderful, happy colour combination. I bet that sweater works with your neutral bottoms as well. KEEP! Your hair is fab!

My style has changed a bit since I moved south and started working in the city. My closet has a much more limited palette. I am, however, still a hard core mariner stripe lover! I have edited out some worn versions (I'm down to 3 tops currently) but I relapse nearly every weekend.

And interesting discussion on the slouchiness. @lisap - i was with you - I hate even a *hint* of my tummy to show in knits, so I always sized up, even it the shoulders were too big. Now that the baby weight is gone, these sweaters seem very slouchy to me, so i only liek to wear them when balanced with fitted bottoms. Unfortunately that makes them less versatile.

@alaskagirl thanks so much! Yes, looking at these pics I do find the jersey skirts very fitted, so it's nice to balance it out on top. It seems liek the way you would wear a pencil skirt

Oh, that color combo. So fresh and happy. I love this outfit as it is so versatile and pretty.

I'm moving out of an all gray and black period. For the last 2 years, all black and gray, no patterns but stripes, all the time. I think I thought I was being timeless and elegant but it was actually just kind of depressing. No plans to revert back anytime soon.

Oh, what a fabulous colour combo! Love it! I really like the blues with the skirt and top. I would not have thought to pair those, so I'm getting nice ideas. YLF Roxanna

Thanks ladies! I've moved away from wearing colours but really enjoyed this. I think I'll inject since colour back ion periodically. It's such an easy way to make a statement!
