Yesterday was one of the few days a year where Calgary gets hot. This entire week, we're facing temps around 90F/32C. So, my few pairs of shorts are getting a lot of use! Pics 1 & 2 are what I wore while working at home. Breezy top and khaki shorts. Comfy but the reason I rarely wear shorts - I feel I look like I'm still in college.

But in the evening, I was invited to an event in support of the arts at a trendy but casual restaurant. And I had no idea of what to wear. My dresses run either super-casual or cocktail/wedding appropriate, which I thought would be over-doing it. So I grabbed my tube skirt and kept the breezy top for the volume up top. And I felt perfectly comfortable in the heat and that I'd hit the appropriate level of artsy dressiness.

Does the volume on top work or is it too much for petite me? As always, comments and suggestions welcome!
