Having just come back from two one-year maternity leaves in four years, one of the most surprising things to me is how my style has evolved. Pre-mat leaves, my style was maximal - lots of colours, textures, patterns and layering, mixed in am innovative way with retro 50s touches. After my first child, I migrated to a cleaner look of silk blouse + slouchy wool sweater + pencil skirt, but kept the colour play, pairing unexpected colour combinations. Now I find I gravitate toward sophisticated luxe with lots of texture play and grown - up details. Where I loved saturated colours, I now like monochromatic colour schemes. Where I loved the coziness of knits, I now love blazers. I've traded in my chunky necklaces for pearls. Where I loved retro silhouettes, I now love modern, clean cuts. It amazes me how much my style (and my life!!) ca change in four short years!

I'd love to know: have you gone through similar style 180s? When and how did it affect you?

(All comments - positive and constructive - appreciated. This boxy, closed in style of blazer is new for me - does it work? Or should I style it differently?)
