I got some nice compliments on my top today, but I was pretty distressed to see myself in the mirror when I came home. These pants seemed to fit well when I brought them home and when I left the house, but now they look a baggy, wrinkled mess.

At this rate, I will end up with a uniform of J. Crew Matchstick Cords for my bottom half, because those seem to be the only work-appropriate pants that don't make me feel frumpy!

Thanks, Suz. The pants are cotton/spandex... yeah, I should know better, but I thought Theory might have found a way...

Bummer, though I had to really look to see what you were talking about. Hopefully everyone else missed the crinkles, too!

Is that an orange blouse I see (have you had that, or is it new)? And is that the bag you ordered online? Nice! Your beautiful face and smile stole the show today, no doubt.

Yes, that *is* an orange blouse! It's "new," via Ebay. Also the Ebay bag.

I guess that is a reason to keep smiling: distraction from ill-fitting pants.

I think you still look nice! All cottons are not made equally, you know? I have found cotton sateens to be the worst in terms of wrinkling, vs. a matte, twill cotton with some decent Lycra content. But you never know until you actually sit in the darn things all day :).

Rae, you defnitely do not look like a "bumpkin". I can relate to the frustration you feel in having pants that wrinkle by day's end. But to echo Jonesy, not all cotttons are made eqaul. Thru trial and error, I have been able to find some terrific cotton slacks that hold up to a day of sitting.

I love the outfit, but definitely relate to the sateen pant issue. I have stopped purchasing them. I have a great pair of Halogen cotten pants that NEVER wrinkle. Wish I could find more of this amazing fabric (I have others that are just normal)

My goodness, Rae! You can do better than Matchstick cords!!! You are too sassy for that look! Cords are more casual than dark wash jeans. May I suggest rethinking your strategy. Or am I missing something?

The shirt and bag are super! The pants don't look so bad in the pic, but I have to say I always feel hopeful about Theory - it seems so great on everyone else - and always go away disappointed.

Angie, yes, I was being quite negative when I said the cords were the best I've done in terms of pants - for some reason, I never have trouble with jeans/casual pants, but dress pants KILL me. :T

In my post from this morning, I'm attempting a bit of a paradigm shift in that I'm looking at spending more on pants, since they seem to be my arch nemesis.

pants are tough to find a good fit, they fruastrate me as well, but i see no bumpkin, and i think this outfit looks good to my eye!! I'm with ironkurtin pants wrinkle!
