WIW: Summer Summary (PIC heavy)

It's been a whirlwind of a summer and I've posted sporadically (but try to peek in daily if I can). Sad to think Summer is nearing an end (our school starts Tuesday). I figure I'd do a quick summary post similar to Suz' roundup (which I can't find on search at the moment)

I have been pretty happy with what I have (and have bought). I have not been diligent with photographing daily, but here is a quick summary of what my summer has been like.

1-I thought of YLF on vacation!
2, 6, 7, 13, 14, 18, 21: work looks formula of blazer, pants or dress, semituck
Casual Fridays: 3, 4, 5, 8, 18, 20
Weekend/vacation casual: 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19
21-22 Converting Faux white suit to Datenight

What I learned: I love Blue and White! I repeat nude or metallic footwear always. I suspect if I photo'd these specific outfits they are pretty much favorites. I am not a big repeater, but there are items I find I love enough to rework and they are consistently Boden or J Crew.

Boden items: 3 (2, 7, 14, 18)
J Crew Items: 4 (2, 3, 15, 17)

Oh my gosh! So much fabness I feel like I need to breathe into a paper bag!! LOVE the family photo! And you look so fably chic and relaxed in No. 10. As far as I'm concerned this is an all-star lineup -- not a misstep in the bunch!!

These are some fantastic outfits! What a gorgeous summer you had. My favorites of the bunch are 5 and 13, though I've got to say you are so stylish in all of them, I hate to "play favorites." I love the colors in 5 and how gorgeous those sandals are on you, really showing off your legs. And you rock a dress like nobody's business--13 is just stunning. You do look fine in your blazers and semi-tucks.
I enjoyed reading what you've learned--it's inspiring. Maybe I should try a little retrospection with my photos, now that I've been taking them regularly.

If your summer was as good as you looked, I'd say you had a fab one! As a semi-newb, I'm not sure I've seen your WIW before, but I love your style. #7 really jumps out at me- love the sleeves! Also love the fabbers-in-training!

Fabulous outfits! I love, love, love the sailing outfit in #11. And #20 is also super fantastic. I love J. Crew, but I have never purchased from Boden. They're a UK company, right? I'll assume they charge to ship to the US - are returns a hassle?

Such a feast for the eyes here! First off, you are so pretty, and you're looking incredibly well. And your family is adorable! Love the YLF beach shot, too.

Your outfits are terrific and I am incredibly envious of your sandal collection.

I think I could live happily in your closet. Your standby outfits are like my standby outfits. Lots of white, lots of blue, a bit of classic, a bit of prep. And, may I say that the semi-tuck is incredibly brilliant on you?? I have found it a godsend on myself and I think you are similar. I don't know if it is because we like a similar style of clothing or whether it's a body type thing, or what, but all I know is, you look fab!

Summer is such a hard season to dress for work. Especially with a jacket. So i particularly love how fresh you look in your work outfits.

I think we have the same overall shape (just shrunk by a few inches) so i think i need to take more notes about the general shapes that you sport.

Hands down fave the crab shirt. So much fun.

Karie - I love Boden. They usually have a free ship/free returns code (which I always use) Their customer service is fantastic - highly recommend.I just ordered the silver Trina sandals because I saw them on you in a similar outfit to my boat one!
Suz - as always you are so wise and kind. We do have similar tastes and I could live quite happily in your closet (if it fit me). I could not function without the semituck! Long live the semituck! You've had a brilliant summer and I've been inspired (I've been watching). This is just a small sample of my shoes- I've just ordered up a bunch of sandals at the end of season sales.
Aubergine - we were at St. Michael's MD for these vacation shots so lots of Old Bay to be had!
DoubleH - welcome, I'm an "oldie" and my summer has been a bit hectic so not a lot of posting lately. I hope to catch up in fall and look forward to seeing your looks.
BJ- the crab shirt is my favorite as well. I haven't figured out how to wear it to work yet.
Special note to all who loved #13 - I purchased for $20 on Marshall's clearance and nearly returned it twice. My FFBO for hot days is a patterned dress and solid jacket (my office is usually quite cold). I will say I'm glad I did not in the end return this one. It's perfect for hot days as it has elbow length sleeves and can be worn alone. It drapes nicely too and the white and blue reminded me of that gorgeous Kate Middleton DVF dress. Sadly though I ruined my white blazer and am desperately hunting down a replacement.

Gorgeous! Your summer style is amazing. You look so put together and pretty in everything! It's hard to choose a fave but I really love 2,3,4, 11 and 16. The colors in those seem to make you glow--it must be your beautiful caramel hair with the blues. SO pretty! Is that what you call your hair color? If so, I need caramel highlights!

So fun to see you. I'm glad that you shared your fab summer style. Miss you and your blazers!

Funny about the #13 dress. You never know what turns out to be a good buy!

Awesome!!! My favs are 3, 8, 15, and 22, but they are all fantastic! (I'm always drawn to the casual). I love it when you have pops of colour like the turquoise. Your family is gorgeous as well. Funny to think of YLF whilst on vacation...I do too
