At least where I am at the weather is in the 60’s. I was freezing today in outfit 2. I would appreciate your ladies’ help here. At issue,

1.) I am wearing my new necklace I posted about awhile ago. I was concerned it was too blingy and large for me but ultimately decided I could not live without it I usually wear it peaking out of a collared shirt as in exhibit 2, but I thought in outfit 1 it worked well to distract from the low neckline of my blouse.
2.) What do you think about this combo? I am distracted by the boots not matching the belt, but maybe this is an irrelevent hang-up. I also wore with this a cognac bag that matches the belt and a cream short trench. This is the Esprit blazer you all talked me into, by the way. I love it.

Any feedback appreciated. Keep me in check

love that necklace!!! i usually use a bold neckace to fill in a neckline as you did.

I think the necklace works well in #1. I think the wide, curved neckline helps bring attention to the necklace and dresses the whole look up a bit. Of course it's very pretty with the collared shirt as well, just a bit more subtle.

In #2, I don't think you need to match your shoes and belt at all. For one thing, they are both in the same color family, at least, plus they both have the same style element and contribute a little ruggedness to the outfit.

The chain looks great with outfit #1! As Jenava said, the wide shirt collar really brings attention to the necklace. Outfit #2 looks fab to me, the bright scarf brings my eyes right to your face. I don't think the boots/belt have to match, though I usually match them myself so I understand your feeling By the way, in outfit #2 are your boots gray or green?

All of these outfits are right up my alley. Casual chic with denim playing a supporting role. You always look soooo good Scarlet!!! I LOVE love love those green boots, and no they don't have to match. I think the whole outfit is cooler with these two key pieces in the same tone but not matching. I want to copy #4 because it is minimal but confident and the focus is on the great pieces -- the boots, the scarf, the jacket.

As for the necklace, it is not blingy to me! I think I like it better in outfit #1. Did you try the necklace tucked inside collared shirts? This is probably just a personal preference, but I like them inside due to the buttons and collar already providing some visual interest. (I know Angie does it outside, your way, which is probably more fashion-forward.) : )

On another note, I am very jealous of 60 degree weather, yesterday it was 100 F.

Both of these outfits are great. I really like the necklace in both, but I love how you can really see it in #1. FWIW, it doesn't come across at all as "too blingy" to me. I love outfit #2! That blazer is incredible, and I love the boots. I don't think you need to be distracted by the boots and belt not matching at all. The whole outfit looks great and the cognac bag and cream trench sound perfect.

Aida—the boots are really a taupe sort of color, but the colors are reading a little extreme in the photo. Probably the lack of natural light—it was evening. Hence my tired face

CocoLion—thanks for your detailed comment. I find that the necklace escapes my collar and likes to be half in and half out. I just go with it. I wish we could split our weather. We have had the most rainy and cold summer but I know some folks in the states are having the opposite extreme.

Angie—thank you for your sweet words. I thought of you specifically when I tucked in my blouse in 3/4—I was off tucking for years but you commented somewhere recently that you like bootcuts loose, tucked, and belted, so I gave it a shot

Ooh taupe paired with cognac is yummy! I think if the shoes were also cognac it may actually take away some of the impact from the scarf, so I really like the taupe here.

(When selecting my shoes for today I looked at my brown belt and thought of this thread: Don't match them, I told myself! But of course I did. Two fairly different shades of brown and my purse was white, so that counts as not matching, right? )

You look great with the gray blazer, and I don't mind that the shoes don't match the belt. The shoes echo the lighter vibe of the blazer. Nice bold necklace, I like a necklace that fills empty space with tops.

Pure fabulousness! I guess I missed this thread the first time around, but I had to chime in. I really love that deep orange scarf on you, and you were absolutely made for low-slung denim, Mz. Scarlet! The first look is layered lusciousness too.
