WIW: Still enjoying the 70's - YouLookFab Forum

Happy Friday Fabbers!

I'm off out to have lunch with Mum and Dad in a while and I like to put a little effort into my outfit when I visit. Mum's always interested to see what I've made recently. She still sews and knits herself (she's in her 80's)

I can't escape my love for all things 70's inspired these days, so I have on my faux suede A-line skirt again and this time with another recently made sweater. It's the same knit fabric that you saw in my ruffle hem sweater last week. I had 3 metres and I still have some left for one more sweater. My 70's style stacked heel boots finish the look. I'll top off with my cream trench and a bag...not sure which bag yet. Oh, and I wanted to add some sort of necklace and a pendant wouldn't work with the cowl neck so I went with a short gold disc detail one.

Thanks Robin! No I don't have a machine (I used to though) The sweater is made from a sweater knit fabric that I bought and made up like I would any jersey type fabric.

This skirt/boots combo immediately reminded me of what Brooklyn's been wearing recently, and then I saw her response. Hee!

I really really like the a-line and cowl look. I think that's my favorite silhouette from the 70s, and you have the colors and shapes just right. Love that necklace too!

Super outfit, Diane! I bet your mum was impressed! That's so neat, that she still sews and knits, and you have that interest in common. My mom taught me how to sew but doesn't do it anymore. Still, she appreciates what I make. I've made her some t-shirts recently, and she loves to wear them and tell all her friends that her daughter made them. Kind of like I used to do with all those clothes she made me so many years ago!
