We went to a wedding last night -- one of our friends who used to be in a band with my husband, who is now in a pretty big-time rock band. The invite specified that the event would be held outdoors but under a tent at the bride's family's farm. The dress code was listed as "dress-casual", and the phrase "a very chill get-down" was mentioned. Boots were recommended since we have had so much rain and muddy conditions were definitely in the realm of possibility.

I went for the trusty floral dress that I will probably also wear to my stepson's wedding in August. Pulled my Stuart Weitzman boots out of seasonal storage and was glad I did. They got so muddy, I need to clean them today! Added the Helmut Lang black leather jacket, and a little rose gold clutch for some sparkle. Hubs wore a dress shirt with a light blue subtle floral pattern, a beautiful silver-grey sport coat, dark jeans, and cognac dress shoes.

We had a great time, as did everyone else! It rained and was chilly but we kept fairly dry in the big tent (my jacket stayed on, and closed up, all night!). It was a fun rock'n'roll wedding. The groom and his mom danced to David Bowie "Young Americans" which got us all on the dance floor.
