This week I was road testing my SSIF loot - Go Team Wear! It was fun to build an outfit around one of the items I got in Seattle for every day. I am not truly happy with each of them though...

pic 1 Lilac and stripes
Not strictly a "find of SSIF" but this Halogen striped skirt from NAS was shipped to Seattle for me (with gracious help from Firecracker - thank you once more! ). This BR lilac button down is on trial now: it is on a short side to tuck into pants and does not lend itself well to semi-tuck. I think wearing it tucked into skirts is one remaining option for me. This was "trial #1" - I felt OK that day. I really like the lilac color, it is good for me and I don't have many items in it so maybe it will stay...

This was my poor attempt to copy Denise who copied Greg's outfit. The new item from Seattle is these UGG Chelsea booties - -at last I have black booties to play with!

pic 3 I forgot how to style skinnies!
These are Madewell skinnies Angie made me buy in Seattle. I think they fit me well and the length is passable but I am afraid I forgot how to style skinny jeans after wearing slouchy styles for the last 2 years! Or maybe my eye needs re-adjustment back from the looser styles? This outfit did not feel 100% right to me - was it outfit itself or just my reluctant eye?

I think I liked this outfit the best from this week. It features a new striped shirt from Ann Taylor. It drapes very nicely and layers well even under this thin Tippi merino sweater. I went all out and added my plaid Kut jeans, cream oxfords and tan leather trench. Was it too over the top? Anyway it was fun! Do rolled jeans look seasonally confused with the trench?

This was another outfit I was not sure about. It ended up to be "volume on volume" one. I wanted to wear my new oversized shirt from Ann Taylor and decided to wear Paige bootcuts using one of the last dry fall days. Alas - these bootcuts are very "relaxed" on me now and not fitted in upper legs anymore so I am afraid they looked too frumpy with the f oversized shirt. I felt better with the jacket on because it was adding structure and reining in some shirt volume. What do you think - fashionably oversized "volume on volume" or bordering on a frumpy side?

This was my week - thanks for looking! As usual all comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Sveta, it seems you can't go wrong, style-wise. You look fab in all of these outfits. I agree with you, my favorite is 4, too! It's just so fun the way you've mixed all the elements, and they look great together--it's a very soothing color palette. I also love, love, the skirt on you with that blouse, and topped by the leather jacket. The scarf color practically makes you glow. (And you're very welcome on the skirt! I was glad to help.)
I think your skinnies outfit works nicely. I like the proportions a lot! The only thing I might change is the topper--I like the black and white stripe peeking out from the red coat, but the lavender seems a step too far. So maybe a coat with full length sleeves. Or switch out the sweater to wear one with plain sleeves, but I love that sweater and blouse with the skinnies.

I am not enamored of the shirt fit in 1 - it looks like it feels fussy. Does it?

3 looks great and the shoes make it very 2014 to my eye.

What an amazing week. It's always fun to play with new things. You look amazing and you have styled each in such an interesting way - the Sveta way, which I love. My favorites are 1, 2 and 4. I do understand having to fuss with a top (1) so understand if it doesn't make the cut, it's important to feel as good as you look.

Gorgeous and stylish as always. My favorites are 2.4 and 5, but they all look fantastic.

4 is not too over the top, it's lovely. And a very original twist on Fall wear, which is usually in darker tones. This one looks and feels like Fall, but in a refreshing way.

5 works well too because of your height. It does not look frumpy at all, far from it: it's elegant while relax. It flatters you and your body type. It could look overwhelming on someone with my frame, but on you, it only highlights your beauty. I wish I could wear outfits exactly like this one!

#1 you are right. That color is really good for you. I love the skirt too. I may go hunting for it myself after seeing it on you.

#2 Really nice version of the B&W look. A few nice little accents to add interest without color.

#3 It is your eye. The proportions and fit look very nice to me.

#4 Although I think this is a great outfit, I can't help but compare it to the one you posted some time ago with the orange top. Perhaps it was the contrast in that one that made it special. I wonder if adding a brighter bag would create that same feel. I do love this on you though and the color of the sweater is very nice. I don't think it looks seasonally confused but might as the weather cools more.

#5 This one is nice as is but my first thought was that if you opened a few of the top buttons on the top, it would mirror the shape of the pant at the bottom. Sort of bookending for shape. I think that would look even better.

I am trying to be more analytical when I see things I like and I believe what I find so appealing in your outfits is both the drape and the color combinations. Your clothes always seem to hit the perfect balance between of draping while still fitting well. I also find your color combinations and pattern mixes are subtle but harmonious.

A set of great looks Sveta! I love it all, but since you are trying to delve deeply into why you don't feel awesome, here's what I see:
While I realy like the lilac blouse on you, I"m not sure about the bunching that is going on at the waist. It would bother me... not so much in looks, but in feel.
I love the new skinnies, and I think you'll enjoy the versatility of a slimmer bottom. In this outfit, I'm not sure about the stripey sleeve showing due to the short sleeves on the red coat. It's a bit ALGO maybe?
#4 is just BRILLIANT
Your bootcuts may feel loose, but they don't look it at all. At least not in photos. Certainly no frump to be seen! Love the way the volume of your top is countered by the jacket.

In #1 I can see how the shirt might be a little challenging -- looks like something I've had to deal with, straightening out my shirt constantly as the day goes on. Love the color though.

In #2 I see nothing "poor" in this copycat! In #3 it does not look like you've lost the skinny-styling knack at all, #4 is really fun and I don't see seasonal confusion at all (if it were a heavy wool coat, that might be another story), and I especially love #5. The fit of the jeans doesn't look overly loose -- just easy, much like the fit of my Gap bootcuts after I've worn them for a few hours and they loosen up. I like Dianthus' suggestion to open another button or two on the top.

These are all so fun and chic, but your favorite is mine as well. Really breathtaking. Also, turtlenecks were made for your body type. The black is so good!

Sveta, you are so good at putting things together! I love 1,2,3 and 4 (although I might have worn a different coat in 4). The fifth one might be helped by a better fitting jean (like your new Madewells). Something about the length of the oversized shirt with the loose thighs on the jeans. Anyhow! It was a fab week. I'm so happy you found the Ugg booties, and I will always remember how fab you and Aida looked in the plaid skinnies in Seattle. Rock on!

Gorgeous outfits, as ever, and how fun to see your purchases come out to play.

#1 -- inspired pairing of lilac and the brown -- gorgeous on you! But, I hear you 100% on the BR shirt. I have two of these and I keep putting them into the donate bag (due to the fit -- mine are also a bit short as I bought them petite, and feel a bit too fitted, too) -- and then taking them out (because I LOVE the colours.) Well, for now, mine are in the closet.

#2 Fantastic mod outfit! Love the new booties and hope they were comfortable.

#3. What are you smoking? The skinnies are fab on you! I am with Sharan, maybe the only issue is the topper, but this is the time of year to wear and enjoy the cape.

#4 To die for and I want to copy ASAP, except I don't have a striped shirt, alas. It is not seasonally confused with the light coloured trench. And you know I am Queen Seasonal Confusion Fusspot. So what I say on this subject RULES.

#5 Equally great, but I hear what you are saying...it is too much volume for you to feel good. Wear the big shirt with the skinnies!

#2, #3 and #4 are 10's IMO. I love lilac on you so I also love #1 but if it's not real comfortable or not versatile enough maybe you should keep looking. I think #5 looks fine but agree that maybe a better fitting jean would make you feel better. I definitely think your eye juts needs to adjust to the skinny look because those are my favorite part of these outfits.

Firecracker and Elizabeth, I hear you on the stripes and lilac poking out in the sleeves in #3, I definitely need to be more accurate with sleeve selection when wearing this cape.
Una / Jjsloane, you are right - that shirt in #1 does feel fussy. It is supposed to be fitted but it is not anymore and it kept bunching on the back all day, I think the fabric is not as drapey as I would like.

I like the lilac tippi sweater with the plaid pants best also. Now I want that color. But I'm trying not to be all J Crew all the time anymore. I do already have that sweater from last year in a burgundy though. And I have the pants. So you might see another mini me copycat soon!

WOW, I am not sure where to start. I really like everything. The color combo in #1 seems so original to me. It is just fantastic. You really mix color and prints well. I don't think that you have forgotten how to wear anything. For the record, numbers 4 and 5 are my absolute favorites.
