WIW: Patterns, pearls, and purple

Out with DH for an early Valentines Day for dinner, and for some reason was feeling a little maximal. My plaid pants fit -- hooray! -- and I added, for holiday color, my Pink Tartan silk front cardigan. I love the new purple coat from JCrew! Oddly, I think it's going to be both a great travel coat and a great dressy coat.

All thoughts welcome. Too much?

Wow! I rarely do maximal but I think this is just enough maximal, IYKWIM. I'm glad you got that purple coat -- it looks beautiful on you! The plaid pants are so great.

Thank you all for the kind words. I have to say that I felt really fab in this outfit. The cut of these pants is amazing - when I wear a long wide pant I feel quite glamorous! I must remember that.

Lisap: this sweater is not new but is one of my favorite purchases of the decade. It was a splurge in 2014 I think - a bright floral photo print on silk with a black wool back and sleeves, by Pink Tartan. I don't wear it enough.

Una: I was frightened by your negative review of this coat! But it works for me, I think. I think the weight will help it keep its shape while I travel, yet it's still much lighter than my cocoon or pea coat. I also love the length.

Angie: the snow is off the streets and sidewalks, which makes it easy to get around. And where it lingers, it's hard and crunchy - so some good heeled booties are fine.
