WIW: orange pants from Seattle

Here's one for Team Crazypants. Finally got a chance to break out the orange linen pants I bought at J. Crew while shopping with Angie in Seattle. I paired them with a green handknit tank; several years ago I used to wear this tank all the time with an orange skirt, so I'm glad I finally get a chance to recreate that old favorite color pairing.

I actually went online and also ordered the navy version, so you might be seeing them in the near future. I'm always happy to find linen pants in bright colors (they always seem to be dull, pale, natural colors, which I don't love). They have a fab herringbone pattern as well.

What do you think of the length? I am wearing them with my tallest shoes here - they drag on the floor with all of my other shoes. I am on the fence about hemming them though, as I rather like the long leg line. I might hem the navy pair for slightly lower heels. In any case, I need to wait until I wash them to make sure there is no shrinkage.

Woo the cheerful pants make an appearance! That shade of orange from JCrew is my favorite, "Vibrant Flame" or something? The orange looks really lovely with that shade of green (does that one snag on the bag too?), and the dark touches are also fun. Just hinting about autumn around the corner. I like the long line of the pants; if you were to hem for shorter shoes I'd still want to see it at a sweeping length. Would a shorter length change the break at the foot? I think less break would look fabulous with these pants, make them look even more flowy.

Wow! I winced at the thumbnail of #3, and then fell in love with the full-sized pictures of #1 and #2 (there's a lesson there, maybe about poison eye?). Yes, wash, hem, wear and wear and wear!

Thanks, everyone. I think I will keep this pair at this length, and possibly shorten the navy pair to wear with my lighter colored mini wedges.

Aida, the bag does not catch on this top. It's a much tighter knit than the one I was wearing when we met up in Seattle, which is why it behaves better with the bag.
Unfortunately, I don't think I can get rid of the break in front, at least not with these shoes. They have a lot of platform in front, which is why the pants break in front, but they need that length to get to the right length in back. I can't wear this height shoe without the platform either.

Anna, ha, I kind of see what you mean with the Great Pumpkin, but it doesn't bother me. I don't have a light blue top at the moment. I have the blue knit top I wore when I met you, but that's more of a medium blue. I do have a light blue jacket though; it might work with a white top.
