Outfit Ensemble Trend Advice

WIW: Orange & Grey

Heading into SYC for the month of May so I played in my closet yesterday trying different combinations with what I have and came across this orange/white/grey Argyle cardigan – I completely forgot I had this (how pitiful is that?) so have paired it with my orange tee and grey pencil skirt. I’m wearing my grey Naot Mary-Jane pumps, gold oversized watch for jewelry and my grey faux snakeskin clutch. I like the subtle pattern mixing of the snakeskin and argyle. Although not as obvious as others, I think this outfit fits my rubric.

That sweater looks kinda familiar!! It looks like Angie's Feb cover! Didn't she do it with her Doc Sara's. That would be cute too. I love this combo and I am picturing it with all of your Docs!! Sweet clutch, I would wear it with everything. You don't need another one, this one is perfect.

Great outfit! I love the orange and grey combination. I've been on the lookout for a grey snakeskin clutch but haven't found one yet. It's so inspiring to see that most of your outfit is thrifted. I like to thrift shop but don't go very often (just when my sister is in town).

Rita - yes, Angie does have an argyle pull-over sweater like this and she did wear it with the Docs Saras - why didn't I think of that? Now I want to go home and change my shoes!

Great outfit Shannon! How did you manage to find a T that matched your cardi exactly?!! The top half of this outfit would look great with jeans on the weekend, too.......and maybe some orange ballet flats, if you happen to have any!

Absolutely charming, Shannon! How on earth do you forget such a treasure? I love that harlequin pattern --- certainly says 'retro' to me, oddly poignant for some reason (maybe I'm carrying that feeling over from the pantomime), and yet of-the-minute trendy with the grey and orange! LOVE. Very much.

Would be great fun with a scarf or pussy-bow blouse worn as a tie over pants too! The old original sweater-vest interpretation, that is, since we're talking oxfords. Just add a green bag to make a subversive, cheeky statement of it.

And maybe, come cooler weather, it might layer very brightly with your fuchsia blazer...

Love that sweater! I try to resist preppy elements (no reason other than feeling like I am drawn too much to them ) but that is one I could steal from your closet :0
It pairs nicely with denim skirt. Could be fantastic with white jeans too.

very fun with the orange and gray! i think the top (T & sweater) could go well with several other bottoms too.... Yay for May SYC.... after adding up my spending i thikn i will be joining you on SYC. i must apologize, for i have hardly been around, was $5 thrifting weekly going to be allowed? or was that removed to prevent the purchase of just so-so items that met the $5 price limit?

You look lovely! I really like orange and gray together and your Argyle sweater absolutely looks made to order with the top. Those Doc Sara's will look mighty cute too! You should be able to wear the sweater and top with a lot of things! Nice charcoal gray trousers too...as well as white ones. Have you found a pair you like yet? Thanks for chiming in on the weekend and helping me not go off the deep end with that AT jacket!

It's impossible to tell from the picture, but these shoes are actually a gunmetal grey with a bit of a metallic sheen to them. They definitely look black in the pic though!

I like the idea of the Saras and the Aerosoles - I hadn't thought of the peep toes with this!
