Hi Ladies,

Stripes and France just seem to go together right? So I am feeling a little bit french chic today lol. Never thought I would say that ha ha.

Caught up with my sister on the weekend and came home with this top. Its by Ping Pong and is a lovely soft jersey. This is so not her style so not sure why she bought it (but Im glad she did lol) . She has never worn it! As you know I am not really a stripes girl. I like them but rarely like them on me. The combination of the almost cobalt blue and the oversized design of the top makes it work for me ... I think Truth is... I love it!

Gosh who are you and what have you done with Deborah? The stripey shirt looks good to me, and I have to say that the more black-heavy and layered styling in #4 jives most with your style to me. But it's not toooo much of a stretch, as you said with the cobalt. Looks gorgeous with your hair and the bold lipstick!

I do feel I might be experiencing a slight style evolution? I feel I have really honed my style, pared back and now I have the foundation on which to build by adding a little carefully chosen colour here and there along with maybe a touch of trend, etc. However I not looking specifically to add colour. Both this and the pink jacket were from my sister. I am not sure I would have bought either of these but I am thrilled with what they add to my wardrobe. I think at the moment I am feeling the desire to 'stretch' a little and add the unexpected without compromising who I am style wise:)

I try not to get too deep and analytical about it all but I think my new job has been a catalyst for this:)

Deborah, I am impressed. Again, not black, grey or white! And again a gift from your sister haha. Keep on viviting her. What a fantastic way of gaining new clothes. And such a wallet friendly way too.
I throw out clothes many times myself and try to find a good new owner for them. Usually I invite a group of 5 girlfriends first. One of them said: such a delight to shop your closet, we never have to go past the paydesk haha.

I think it's flattering, too, Deborah. The a generous, drapey fit with a graphic pattern (and stripes are a form a graphic, I guess) seems to be a great combination for a fluid piece. The length is again generous, but not sloppy -- which is great luck for a gifted piece!

Using architectural drape and black as your signature and foundation, and then adding some pops of color, or texture, or pattern, is kind of an "art gallery" approach to dressing. Anything your place on your black "gallery walls" will be magnified and highlighted. It has the added benefit of making anything --- even a striped tee --- seem arty and intentional.
