So, I've been inspired by recreating an image from a Ralph Lauren ad that showed a model in a blue-and-white gingham shirt with a white knife-pleated skirt and brown belt. I know we're past that season, but I thought I'd better complete my mission!

I shopped online at J. Crew and then went to the store and tried on the men's XS, but it was too large. The sales associate found a boy's Jenson gingham in Paradise Blue and I ordered it. There were limited sizes in the women's version.

Of course, I'm always drawn to other items and attached is a navy schoolboy blazer I really liked at the J. Crew store and it was shown with a denim shirt, jeans and a yellow belt. A really cute pendant necklace was added.

Sending a nod to Amy as I'm wearing the NY&Co. blouse she showed in one of her great photos. I also have on my taupe Ralph Lauren slacks and black boots and I knotted a long strand of pearls.

I'll let you know if the boy's shirt is a fit! My one tiny concern is that my knife-pleated skirt is a bit on the cream side and the shirt may be a true white. Oh well, that's what makes this all fun! It's an ongoing adventure!
