I wore it today and LOVED how it looked!

Not too enamored with these pants though - they refused to stay tucked into the boots and looked scrunchy and weird! (See Pic 2)

Also, don't they look disastrous at the crotch? Or is it just me? :/ Maybe it is time to look for a new pair of red jeans?

I'm attaching a few more pics of me wearing these pants, sans boots. Apart from the obvious face that they aren't made for boots, I'm not sure about the fit in the crotch area - maybe these pics will help you ladies judge a little better?

Beautiful brown jacket and looks great on you! The color of the pants is great. Is the rise a little long? The seem to fit pretty good in most other ways. I have a problem with rise in pants. I think even with a 32" inseam I need a shorter rise myself.

I agree the rise seems a bit long for you, causing the bunching. You are so pretty, and you look great in that brown jacket!

Alaskagirl: Aww thanks! And yeah, I agree about the rise. I can never find pants/jeans with a short enough rise. We don't have petite sizing in France, so I don't have a lot of options.

Oh my goodness, that brown jacket is FANTASTIC on you. I love it! The asymmetrical closure is so cool! I like it with the red pants and the boots but feel your pain about the pants fit. So frustrating. I don't know if it would be difficult to alter; I suspect so.

You could wear these pants with longer tunics to cover the rise area too... they are a fab color. I have the opposite problem - the rise is always too short for me.

How pretty you look in this brown and red combo! I love the brown jacket! I'm not sure about the jeans fit, but it doesn't look horrible to me. I agree with Una (alaskagirl) that a tunic might cover any fit issues and would look cute hanging out from under the jacket.

Great jacket, and these colors are wonderful on you! I agree about the rise being too high for you. It doesn't look as bad in the last photo you posted, but maybe it's how you're standing? Does it slide down? Would it be possible to have taken in so it stays up and acts like proper high rise pants?

Hi, Kirti, and welcome! Wow! What a gorgeous jacket and what a beautiful smile you have. I love this outfit! I honestly didn't notice any fit problems with the pants until you pointed it out. The jacket is such a statement piece, and I'm sure you will turn heads whenever you wear it.

Aida: It fits at the waist, so it can't be taken in there. But these pants are stretchy and that coupled with the long rise means that they do slide down all day!

That brown jacket looks wonderful on you! I love the asymmetric style, and the fit is great and really shows off you waist. I love the color combination with the pants even though the pants aren't totally behaving for you.

This may seem too obvious, but have you tried wearing a belt even when you're not wearing your shirt tucked? I always have trouble with my jeans sliding down, and finally figured out that wearing a belt really helps! I just got an "invisibelt" from Amazon that's clear plastic and at least theoretically a little sleeker under clothes, and it works pretty well.

I think the pants would also work better with taller boots or different shoes, but sometimes on a rainy day you've just got to do what you've got to do to stay dry!

Anyway, you look great, and I'm completely jealous of your fantastic vintage and thrift store finds!
