WIW : Mum's Birthday & New Hair

Hi Ladies

Thanks so much for your help, particularly Caro and Angie in deciding what to wear today.

You have seen it before;). Black plaza drape Metalicus dress and adding a little "light" with a statement necklace and silver stud earrings. I have popped on my long tail draped jersey cardigan for the drive to my sisters.

In other news;), went for cut and colour yesterday, and after quite a bit of consideration over the past month i think I have settled on my short style having tried a couple of variations over the past few months. The length, the cut and the colour are 10's for me:). Also, I have decided the all over platinum was fun but am now having a blend of white blonde and a darker tone, with a view to a slighty thicker/wider splicing of the two colours next appointment. I will share my inspo pic in a later post.

Deborah , your hair is gorgeous. Such a meticulous cut and the colour works beautifully with your blue eyes and fair skin. Have you found your makeup working well with it , or have you had to change anything? I just did the same thing to my hair earlier this week (adding in some darker, ashier slices for winter) and am struggling a bit to find the right makeup.

Thanks Lisa! Because I tend to maintain a consistent tone to my hair I rarely have to make make up changes, which is good because I'm attached to looking a little pale and wearing red lipstick. At the moment I am wearing a bb cream as my mineral foundation is no longer being made, so I am searching for a new foundation;). I particularly like that adding done dark tones seems to add depth to my features ... Or at least I think it does

Your hair looks gorgeous and the outfit looks fab. Every time I see a close up of those beautiful blue eyes, I wonder why you don't mix more navy pieces with your signature black. Have a wonderful time celebrating with your mum and sisters.

I think that your outfit choice and jewelry is just perfect! I hope the party was (is) wonderful!! I really love your hair this way. As much as I am a fan of all over platinum (for obvious reasons) I have to admit that this color is truly *your* color. The depth to it, while still remaining overall pale blonde, is fantastic.

Oh wow - you look great Deborah! Perfect outfit for your mum's birthday - and true to your individual style! I am so envious of your hair - I'm assuming that it is naturally straight? The assymetrical precision of the cut works perfectly with straight hair! Also - I like the added depth of color - and yes, I think you're right - it does bring out your beautiful blue eyes!

Joy, if I could find navy items that I liked, they would absolutely be in my closet. It just seems a difficult colour to find in modern pieces.

Sarah, thank you. The other issue for me was that my hair is a little damaged. There is some breakage at the part line and it made me realise that continue torture (LOL) was only going to make it worse. I also realised that this colour combo probably is more flattering for me

Marley, not sure how to tell you but my hair is wavy/curly! That is one of the reasons why I have not had hair longer than my chin for a very long time. The longer it is the more difficult it is to control and style. Worn 'au naturel' is just a nightmare.. I look like a mop;)

Lyn you are so naughty!! No I don't have cognac boots lol but maybe I need them!! You are making me think of the boots I bought in black that also came in a lovely camel tone.... but I honestly think the cognac might be a bit warm for me.... ha ha this is me talking myself out of the idea.

Deborah - all I can say is "Hello Gorgeous!!" I love this color and cut on you. The platinum was very pretty and fun, but I just think this has so much more depth and drama and I adore you cut!! Perfect outfit and great with the necklace. Just marvelous!! I am sure Mom was strutting proud of her girls!

Nothing in mind from Metalicus for next month yet, but I will have their September special double loyalty $ to put towards something…

Yes Lyn I saw the double loyalty points....that's for purchases made this month? I am waiting till the end of the month but I think I am going to duplicate the Marlini top in the blue, if it's still available....I can stand the idea of "wasting" my voucher lol.

Btw...my Aldi still has a couple of pairs of those boots !!
