[With apologies to those who are tired of one or more of these fashion terms. ]

When Angie posted some fall trends, I took notes on which
ones I could pull from my closet. I looove doing that. So, this WIW to a friend’s band’s show recently features some mary janes (Mary Janes? :P) that I got via Amazon.uk in 2014. (Sob story: These were really a second-choice buy, as the ones I had wanted were unobtainable in my
size 36. I have a pair of the sought-after pattern, but in the wrong size. They were listed as US size 6 but are not—they’re 37s and will be going up on the Style Exchange.
)

These shoes are from the Art Company, a Spanish maker that does a lot of fun patterns. The ones I have experienced IRL are printed patent, which I suppose might count toward extra maximalism. This pattern is called Punk, and its plaid is made up of chains ( <3 ). In product photos, these look black, but they lean brown IRL. I’ve made peace with that. Unlike in the old days when mixing brown and black was a faux pas, well, of course we can do it now. These have some platform to them, and I love the retro shape and block heel.

The maximal side of things included that I wore 2 goldtone necklaces that eve, plus midsize gold hoop earrings. AND specs. So there!

  • Merona (Target) tee, 2012? Maybe even a little earlier.
  • LOFT petite cropped "relaxed skinny" jeans, 2015
  • The Art Company mary janes in Punk, 2014
  • hoop E/R, H&M I think
  • Sphinx vintage goldtone necklace with marbled brown glass stones, eBayed in maybe 2012, 2013?
  • other vintage goldtone necklace, flea marketed in the 1990s

Apologies also for any blurry pix. My phone doesn't have the bestest camera evar.
