Well, you certainly know how to make a girl feel wonderful
@Claudia, Astrid, Alicat, Shu, thank you all.
@Sveta, cobalt blue is a surprise discovery for me too, I've bought two blouses during summer and loved them, this dress just sealed that love. I will certainly incorporate it in my wardrobe more.
Regarding #2, OF COURSE, this look is so you and although I was completely unaware I was channeling you on purpose, the fact I did tells you just how much your style journey influences mine and how your looks have become part of my style mapping
@bj1111, what a fun observation, thank you.
@DragonflyJane, I'll list all the dresses separately for you.
@Denise, to say I am flattered is quite an understatement, but on the other hand I am extremely happy you find it inspiring - because that is the skill I've learnt since coming here! I think pairing things down came after truly understanding that I personally enjoy uncluttered look and being happy with knowing (as I wrote in the intro) that is not necessarily boring look.
@kelly, what you say only means my patience paid off. I've worked out what styles I like and work for me, it was a case of patiently waiting for the right pieces to come along. No more hasty or desperate buys. Difficult one to put in practice because of all the bad shopping habits and experiences in the past, but I am truly glad I wasn't settling for maybes. The dramas around buying the blue dress alone are documented on the forum, first I bought it, then took back, then bought again.
@Suz, to quote one fab lady I know "When Angie speaks, where hair is concerned, experience shows one should listen." So fair it's easier for care than I expected, we'll have to see how it'll be in the last weeks before next appointment. The fringe is a bit tricky though, I have to get used to it again after some 30+ years. But I love the way the layers are cut, they do half the work in making things look good, the rest is just taming the natural random frizz.
Regarding the #3, I'm overjoyed you too love the buttons, somehow they were exactly the thing that for me elevated the whole look and every time I looked down my hands I smiled and had the feeling that joy showed outside too. It certainly made one colleague from work gush over the whole look!
Btw, the turtlenecks (gray in #2 and navy in #4 are from Zara, if you come across it in Toronto next weekend ).
@Una, I think I couldn't have said it better myself, thank you!!! Things clicked and I'm loving it.
