WIW Matching bag and boots - YouLookFab Forum

I think I've said this before but I am smitten with matching footwear and bag! Half a year ago I got these LD Tuttle booties on final sale, the only reason I took the chance is that I have an excellent track record with this brand and its consistent fit. I got the booties because they are a strong match with some of my Rick Owens pieces. Anyway, the perfect bag was discovered at Nordstrom Rack. From Kooba. Soft leather, but not very big. This link gives a close-up of the shape.

Pic 1 -- With boots and bag, plus CoH cropped jeans and Rachel Roy tank and sweater. These three pieces all from 2014.
Pic 2 -- Same bag and boots with BR jeans (2016 -- similar pair in finds) and Vince cardigan 2012 or 2013.
Pic 3 -- Changing it up. Cardigan was removed and a leather jacket (Zara 2012) put in its place. More LD Tuttle boots, from 2015.

Going on six years here at YLF I realize my wardrobe is in a good place, but is anything getting tired/dated here? I realize I am not on top of all the trends but that isn't what is on my mind right now. I just don't want to look dated.

We've reduced our hours so I'm hoping to spend more time on the forum now. Thank you and I promise not to be defensive if you think things like rolled hems are getting dated.

I'm not sure you could look dated! You wear your outfits with such great attitude and confidence that you would make others question themselves ;). Love the bag and boots. I think the rolled jeans look is somewhat timeless. A tweak here and there and it's refreshed again x

Your outfits don't look dated at all! In fact, I would say they are quite trendy. As I'm really loving cropped jeans at the moment, all of these outfits look great to me. The cropped jeans and sweater outfit in #1 is my favorite.

Not the least bit dated! Love the brown especially. I was reading the WSJ this morning (yes I sometimes read a real newspaper) and noticed an ad with a gorgeous mid-brown briefcase worn with dark grey clothing on a guy. Your #1 reminds me of it. Totally diff vibe of course, but similar gorgeous color combo. I love the darker colors in your pics and am loving the idea of warm rich brown right now...don't have anything in my closet but it's going on my list.

You are also a great example of wearing what you love, regardless of your lifestyle. I would imagine you could easily go very sporty/mountainy given where you live but you stay true to your style instead!

Love that first outfit - that deep brown is a favorite of mine and you look so good in it. For me, the last jeans with the larger roll could be hacked off some and done with a smaller roll - or just one large roll maybe. It's not that they are dated looking but they seem just a little bulky on the roll.

You wear brown very well, and how timely considering Angie's blog post today. I am also a fan of matchy matchy looks especially for accessories. And I don't see anything dated here, all of the cuts and shapes on these pieces look right on point with current styles to my eye.

You look great as always, Denise. I think that rolled hems are always around and the only thing that might change is the width of the roll. The young things I work with at any given time are consistent about that, not that that means other widths aren't okay too.

These days I am hoping that if I'm truly wearing *my* style, and if I have on at least one or two updated items, that it really doesn't matter about the rest. I don't know if that's right, but it's a fond hope as I have less time to keep up. Maybe part of what makes a style timeless is if it's true to the wearer? I don't know. But you do look great!
