Happy Monday Gorgeous Fabbers!

My harem leggings are getting worn once every few weeks but I would like to wear them more, but I have minimal toppers that work with them. I am hoping Spring might open up more topper opportunities.

I wore this same outfit a few weeks ago for a day of errands and coffee with a friend. Today I have added my new boots (wore a lower heeled boot last time) and felt like some bling so added my silver necklace which I like because it makes a subtle statement:)

What do you think? Proportions ok? Topper suggestions much appreciated.

Deborah, this is such a cool look. I love how the gathers in the top mirror those in the pants. As to topper ideas, I think wearing something open and that bars the front of the leggings, as you've done here, is good. I wouldn't want to cover up the top detail of the leggings. (I hope this is the question you're asking, and not what coat to wear over the whole outfit. . . .)

Tierra, they are from Urban Outfitters, I bought them earlier in the year. It doesn't look like they are still available but they have two other versions in black that look good. I think Cocolion has the 'Staring at the Stars' version?

Firecracker, thanks, that is exactly what I was asking. I need tops that allow the harem detail to show but perhaps reign my hips in a little (a lot)

Love the look & agree with Firecracker about the gathers. The only proportion I'm not sure about is from the knee down.Could just be the photo but I'd like to see more drape or length or something?? Are these full length Deborah?

Looks like they are tucked into your boots?

This topper looks so good I would always wear it with the Harems!
Another top semi-tucked would have a similar effect too, I imagine.

Your silver necklace dresses-up the outfit as would a collar- Fab

Caro, I have noted that too. They are almost full length on me, they are falling into my boots Caro, they are actually a legging and not pants in the true sense of the word:) So they are meant to be fitted on the lower leg. It is kind of a weird (some might say ugly ) look but one that I am strangely attracted to lol.

And it is definitely worth mentioning. If I have any hesitation about them it is related to that issue but I have decided to just ignore it .. you know the saying "ignorance is bliss" Gladiators would look fantastic... I may have to buy some!!

it's a look I am strangely attracted to also, but don't quite have the rest of the look to pull it off - and nor am I willing to invest in the pieces necessary to make it work. You've done a bang-up job here and wear this look really well!

I love the silver accents with the grey and black. And I think you need to go shopping for gladiators, pronto!

There are so many awesome things about this outfit. As always the textures and proportions play so nicely together!

If I have any concern it's that the top and bottom are both pleating where they meet at your waist. It's an odd visual effect that keeps distracting me from the smooth lean lines of the rest. Do you have a top that you don't need to tuck? Or could you leave this untucked, or tuck differently?

Lyn... one word.. vacuum lol:) I just collected my new Metalicus top from the post office !!!

IK the top has the self blouson thing so it's not actually tucked. I just received another top that I think is going to work well with these.. I will give it a whirl and take some pics:)

Debs, this is the perfect top for those awesome harem leggings, I cannot imagine any better for the life of me, esp it they are not tucked in front, rather self blouson thing(which in this case seems much more sophisticated to my eyes). Oh and love the bling! +Can't wait updates with the new top!

I looked at those UO pants you mentioned and was tempted...but am holding off (for now). I have several drapey black pants (but no true harems).
But what I should have been asking about is your top and vest!
I didnt realize at first your top was a self blouson --- I LOVE tops like that (perfect for my apple shape). That grey one is lovely.
I also love your vest. Drapey vests are some of my fave ways to add interest. I have a black one, but the shape/fabrication isnt quite right. Yours looks awesome!

Tierra, thank you:). The top is from Piper which is available through Myer and the vest is B,he Illusion and is about 5 years old. I'm in Australia btw:).
