WIW: Grey and Burgundy for shopping and returns.

I had to pop into town today to return some boots and pick up some cosmetics. I had a lovely long browse round the shops and of course I stopped for the obligatory tea and cake

My pea coat topped off my culottes and draped sweater outfit and I had to use my spotty cross-body bag as I needed both hands free to carry two huge boot boxes.

Coat : Made by me

Sweater : Wal G

Culottes : Made by me

Bag : Bailey and Quinn

Boots : Lamica

Hehe Liz. Well it's a heavy wool cloth that I got from the Goldhawk Road in London. I used a stitch re-inforced fusible interfacing and proper felt layered shoulder pads. The lining is a shot acetate that shimmers green and grey. I adapted a Vogue jacket pattern for the design and modelled it on the J Crew Majesty pea coat. I studied the photos online to see how the seaming and pockets were done and I draped the collar on my dress form to get the right sweep and depth. Buttons were from 'Totally Buttons'

I used to sew most of my clothes a few decades back and I made a couple of coats, including a pea coat. It's a challenge, but I can see you've done an excellent job of tailoring. Fabric is so important. I am impressed by your talent and skill.

Ooooh the coat!! SO GOOD with the culottes and boots. Another fan of the 70s spin ^^ I wish there was a place that sold actual tea and cake near where I shop! Sounds like the perfect shopping break.

A few do, but most don't (at least not outside of the city proper, where I am). Nordstrom does, at least, so I can tea+cake there
