On Monday, the weather suddenly cooled down again (it was 18F/-8C during my walk), so I decided to rewear an outfit that received a lot of forum approval the first time around, based on Angie's brown & red formula. The red sweater underneath is actually a sweater dress whose hem finishes only a couple of inches higher than the brown dress, and it's a thick lambswool/cashmere blend, so I knew it'd keep me cosy. I don't have brown wool tights, so I layered wool knee socks over regular tights & opted for my wool-lined knee boots to keep everything but my knees toasty. They've learned to deal with it. And I pulled out one of my heaviest winter coats again, accessorising it with a faux fur scarflet and a thick brown hat to echo the boots.

Since it's no longer almost Christmas, I chose a different brooch this time around. I thought this extra shiny bee could hold its own against such a big swath of dark brown, and looking at the pictures, I think I was right! I also wore my gold rings to match, but those never show up in full outfit posts.

The brown dress has a higher waistline than my own natural waist (story of my life! despite being only 5'3" I'm long waisted & long torso'ed, so dresses almost never hit my real waist), which used to bother me, as I have a fairly broad rib cage, so I thought it unnecessarily widened me & I used to only wear this dress with a wide belt so I could adjust the waist lower. But it's so much more comfortable belt-free, and looking at these photos, I don't think the higher waist is too bad. What do you think?

(And don't worry: the outer dress fabric didn't shrink, it's just folded back on itself, hence why the lining is peeking out. I've finally acquired an ironing board, so I'll be sure to overcome my RATE tendencies and iron it into submission before the next wearing! hehe)

I almost didn't take photos or post this, as it's pretty much a repeat. But after all, isn't that what everyday dressing should be like? And I enjoy seeing other forum members in their repeats. Feel free to skip commenting though, if you commented on it last time!
