WIW Fri night and Sat: 70s-tastic and skinnies-rrific

Last night we went to dinner and to see "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," to which Hubby and I both give an enthusiastic thumbs-up. I was feeling 70s-ish and I think this outfit fit the bill. I wanted to wear my white jeans jacket but alas! It had a stain on the frong. I think the blazer worked okay, though. What do you think?

Today is the third annual get-together of my high school drama club from the 70s. I must admit I am kind of excited about showing off my new face and figure. Hopefully I don't look like I'm trying too hard. What say you?

LOVE love the 70s look in #1, the white jacket is fabulous there! The colors are also super great (I LOVE the blue+cognac+white! I must wear this.) I like #2, but something about the shoes feels a bit off to me; with those heels it feels more like a date-night outfit.

I love both outfits - the navy with dark jeans creates such a nice, long line. And I don't think #2 is trying too hard at all. In essence, it's just jeans, a top, and a necklace... you look like you just tossed everything on, yet each item brings something special to the outfit.

Thanks, ladies! I have to admit I was disappointed at Saturday's party because all but one of the attendees was much younger than me and I didn't really know anybody. But I got to see a good friend I rarely see, plus our drama teacher was there, which was fun, and the party took place at a lovely home and that was nice. So I'm going to call it all good even though perhaps it wasn't the triumph of narcissism I'd hoped for! ;p
