WIW for the Year of the Bunny (and some help required!)

It's the lunar new year and here are a couple of outfits I wore when I visited family and friends over the past few days. ^^

Outfit #1
I absolutely adore this amazing floral sarong-skirt-pants! Worn with a regular cream tank and brown wedges. Accessories include mix-colour beaded necklace, retro green earrings (hidden by my hair *sob*), and various bangles and seashell bracelets.

HELP!: I love my pants but I need ideas on what else I can pair it with. The other top I've worn this with is a orange/red halter (http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net.....4914_n.jpg).

Let me know what you think I can wear it with, and if you have examples it'd be even more awesome!

Outfit #2
Brand new embellished tee from Armani Exchange. Biker jacket is a Balenciaga inspired copy, worn with jeans and white/brown heels. (Oh and I tucked!) I think my bag doesn't go very well with this ensemble, but oh well.

HELP!: I've been struggling with how to wear this tee because its so darn long! (See third photo) I've tried wearing leggings but it just doesn't look right. Any ideas?

I'm tempted to send it for alteration to shorten the length, but that would get rid of the Armani Exchange design thingy at the bottom. Should I alter it or no? It would certainly be more versatile if it were slightly shorter, methinks.

1is cute, 2 is stunning! Love it with the bag too. Not sure about shortening the tee. What does it look like untucked over skinnies? If you're really keen to shorten it you could pin/tack it up first to see what you felt about it.

How adorable are you with the mask and balloons?! Love the look for the new year celebration!

My thoughts on other tops for the "spants" (skirt-pants - lol) are most likely very boring for the creative YLF ladies ... but because it is so special on its own, I'd keep everything else understated - and pick up the colors in the skirt's fabric, such as the blues and greens, with tanks/camis/simple tops, and then contrast with accessories picking up another of the skirt's colors - possibly a scarf? I can see lightly wrapped around your neck, then draped over your shoulders with both ends down the back, to match the flowy, breezy impact of the bottom.

A-dore outfit two! That's right up my alley, and I covet your striped bag. Great look on you!

ETA: Oh - forgot to opine on the T-shirt... While you may lose the designer thingie at the bottom, it's a small sacrifice for the huge gains you'll make in working that puppy to the max! It's so versatile, but to my eye it's neither fish not fowl at that length. Make it a fish - and reel it in!

I think your instincts for #1 are correct... it seems like, as long as your top is fitted and your heels are high, it should work out.

For the tee, it looks to me like it might be too thin to wear as a tunic -- like the waistband of the jeans or skinnies would cause lumps that show on the shirt. Is that the case? I think that, if you don't shorten it, you might only get to wear it tucked.

Whoa! I love #1! Those are awesome pants/skirt; but I dont think they would work very well with flats or a chunky heel

I say mod the top; it reminds me more of a shirt more than a tunic; I think having a good fit would be worth losing the brand name

Just a quick response, but for the T, why couldn't you wear it over ponte-knit pants or tight-fitting jeans? Does something not look right when you do that?

I really like both outfits! I vote #2 just because you look a little edgier in it

By all means have the new embellished tee shortened.

All I can say is "wow". That skirt/pant/whatever you call it in #1 is fab! I love it. I agree with the others - keeping the top simple and streamlined is the way to go. I'd stick with the cooler tones and play up different looks with the accessories.

#2 is a great, rockerish look and I think the bag works fantastically with it. I will add myself to the 'alter it' team.

Love #1 and #2. #2 is perfect. In #1, my only suggestion is to try a daintier piece of jewelry around the neck, love the bangles and don't feel the wood theme needs to be repeated around the neck. It just makes the look a touch more spontaneous. Cute sandals and skirt and I want that bag you're wearing in #1!

For the t-shirt, I like the suggestion Thunalata made to tack it up first to see if you like it shorter. I wouldn't be worried about removing the Armani Exchange thingy.

With #1 I think you could wear this with a cropped, distressed denim jacket. Or, a cream tux jacket (again, cropped). A simple tank would do.

#1 is great! Are you mostly planning to tuck this? I rather like long tees for tucking since they *stay* tucked. But, if you want to wear it un-tucked you may want to have it hemmed. It is gorgeous, by the way, and I love the way you've styled it. Love you hair, too.

OMG !!! You and your clothes are just great !! Lloyd Boston once said that we should cut the tags off of all our scarves, because it is the scarf that is interesting, not the tag !

Go ahead and shorten the shirt....if you don't and it sits in your closet, the brand won't impress your other clothes
