Some of the reasons I started reading and lurking here is that I want to have more fun with the clothes that I already have and find better ways to wear my clothes. This is a top and skirt that I bought last year and I have never been crazy about either of them. I've considered giving away the shirt. I like the print on the top but have worried that the volume of the sleeves makes my already broad shoulders look enormous. I more typically wear this top with plain khaki shorts or jeans and wear this skirt with an embellished t-shirt untucked. This is the first time I have worn this skirt with a belt. Overall I am pretty happy with this experiment. The shirt looks a lot better proportioned with the volume of the skirt on the bottom, I think. I am interested in wearing belts more. I do not have a very defined waist and it's nice to be able to make it seem like I have a waist.

I wore this outfit to Costco and Osh Kosh for back-to-school shopping with my kids. A 50ish guy in a Mercedes shouted, "nice boots" at me in the parking lot. I'm not sure if I'm flattered or should consider that negative feedback.

I'm also including pictures of some Calvin Klein jeans I bought at Costco. Considering this is the first time I've actually tried on the jeans (there is no fitting room at my Costco) they don't seem too bad to me. I bought a size up, tried them on in the ladies room, and had to go directly to Customer Service to exchange them for a smaller size. Not the easiest way to buy jeans. Sorry the pictures are not the best - they are by my 6 year-old.
