I have decided to follow Ornella's challenge with scarves this week. I thought it will be much harder to do than with jackets and I was right. The most difficult part was to not get a feeling of wearing the same outfit every day. I tried to avoid it by not only wearing scarves in different colors and patterns but also tying them different ways.
I am giving more detailed descriptions for Michelle here as well.
#1 This is a variation of an outfit I wore last season. I changed the black top for a silver grey one and unfortunately my houndtooth hose did not survive <sob> so I used a small dot hose here. My A-line striped sleeveless dress in grey and black layered over a silver grey long sleeve top with grey knee high Franco Sarto boots. Red and black animal print scarf is tied in "messy" way
#2 I was in a simple mode that day. Camel turtleneck with dark wash skinny jeans, my Danier crinkled brown leather blazer, camel hobo bag and SM brown lace up combat boots worn with flaps down. Teal and white checkered scarf is tied in Euro knot. I have a question about this outfit: is this camel t-neck too short to wear with jeans or is this length oK? I have such a hard time finding longer tops, it is really frustrating!
#3 I am like pendulum: after a simple mode a day before I was ready for something bold. Enter a bright red long sleeve tee with cobalt and black checkered square scarf! All this is paired with my grey wide leg trousers and animal print shoes. This is as much AGLO as I can do! My scarf is tied in a muffler style here.
#4-5 I have really hard time styling these grey Martin skinny trousers. I feel too body con in them so I treat them as leggings and wear with tunic tops only. Today it was my indigo blue silk tunic from Le Chateau over a long sleeve black tee and black slouch Fitzwell boots. My scarf is navy / white stripes and it is tied in a double Angie's knot. You may ask what is a double Angie's knot? You know what Angie's knot is, right? I just looped my scarf around my neck first and then tied the knot. Simple!
Bonus picture of my red cape: I think it looks good with the striped scarf, no?
#6-7 I was coming to the end of my scarf creativity here and then I remembered this infinity scarf in purple and green which I got from my Secret Santa Lisa last year. I decided that this is just the right candidate for a scarf challenge! I really like this scarf and its unexpected color pairing but I find it hard to find partners for it. This charcoal dress is one of the few items I can pair with this scarf. I have added ankle length leggings and chunky heeled Clarks booties as well as black and white BF cardigan to top off the sleeveless dress. Today was a really cold day so I wore my cobalt blue coat on top. I grabbed this coat in the morning , threw it on and suddenly realized that my infinity scarf does not really go well with it but I did not have time to change. So because I truthfully document my outfits you need to endure a picture of this cobalt coat with a purple scarf...:-(
Here was my week at a glance. Doing these Ornella's challenges helped me to realize the way I usually dress. I found them hard for me because I am a mood dresser. I like to build my outfits around an item I want to wear that day. In this case I had to build my outfits around scarves - not because I was in the mood to wear them but because of the challenge. I found this very hard when I reach for a certain top because I want to wear it today and then realize I cannot wear it with a scarf...
But that was fun and I hope I did not fail it

Oh and here is pic #8 - I bought a new ring today, silver with turquoise. My hubby did not like it but I like big and bold rings because my hands are big and my fingers are very long. What do you think - too much over the top or cool?

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
