Where did January go? Was it the calendar challenge that made it vanish so quickly? It definitely helped beat the gloom for me and made fashion a bit more fun AND the sartorial decision making easier. It even stretched me quite a bit.

This week I went under the weather (can one say that?) with the flu, so I only did three days of the challenge. Sunday, monday and tuesday I only made it into my sweatpants.

#1 Wednesday: I was still under recovery, so I didn't go outside at all. Making a dress into a skirt felt like too much work for a stay at home-day, so I borrowed from the men instead. Quite literally, too, because I stole my husband's shirt for the first time in 25 years! He has this lovely Paul Smith plaid shirt in a beautiful thick cotton. I paired it with blue jeans, rolled, and the new moto (again, sorry). The sunlight outside made me long for Spring so I put on the suede stone booties and even my silver pumps just for fun. This must be dressing for a life I want, not the one I have, because the only appropriate footwear these days is Sorel's. Bonus: DH donated the shirt to me when he saw me in it

#2 Thursday: I felt well enough to go to work and attend a few meetings, but I din't feel like layering two shirts or other similar pieces, so I went for unstuffy turtleneck instead. The pleated trousers from Paris have been a favorite this winter, and I think they pair well with the rather fitted turtleneck. For extra warmth I added the cashmere poncho, and to perk things up (more Spring fever + add some white) I wore the Adi sneaks indoors.

#3 Friday: Today is it belt your coat day. I tried belting the red coat, but it looked funny, so I swapped the self belt on the grey coat with a snake print belt in leather instead. Is that cheating? To amp up the military vibe I added a thin silk scarf around my neck under the collar instead of a big chunky one on top as I normally do. The scarf is black and cream and repeats the light color in the bag. I paired this with black Chelsea boots and leather gloves and the Stone Danier bag. A red lip finishes the outfit.

What do you think? Which one is your favorite? Did you do any of the challenges this week? Please share if you did.

Thank you for following along. It has been a lot of fun trying to be creative within the limitations of the January calendar, and I'm considering doing it in February, too. If you want so see a recap of my outfits in one page, you can do so here.
