WIW: Festive Angie Inspired Cowl and Blouse + Remixes

1. Inspired by Angie's blog post today and needing a festive outfit for a Christmas lunch with friends, I paired my silky blouse with metallic dots with a cream cowl-neck pullover shot with fine metallic gold threads and white Kut Diana skinny jeans. Later I switched the pumps for my SE putty Petty booties for class. How did I do? Do these pieces work together?

2. Trying a sequined top under the ivory jacket. To wear this out I need a long shiny tank under the bling because it's too short. The belt was a bit too long. Is this outfit worth working on? The sequined piece has cap sleeves.

3-5. This shows an earlier (Sunday) outfit with the same cowl sweater in #1. I felt frumpy in 3. #4 Shows the addition of the clutch, 5 adds the jacket which felt more modern and a small silk scarf to protect the jacket collar. The result felt better but I'd like to do better. I need your ideas.

6. Casualizing the last outfit to go to the movie Nebraska in the evening. There's that same cowl-neck for bling with those same Diana skinny jeans and ivory jacket.

Please let me know your thoughts on these outfits and mixing of pieces. What works best? What suggestions for improving can you give me?

#1 and #2 work well visually. Well done. I bet your SE pettys looked great with both outfits.

You don't look frumpy in #3 and #4 at all. Not in the slightest. I vote polished and pulled together creating flattering proportions. Go Team Flats.

#6 is my best. You had me with the white from head to toe. Killer look on you. I love how that palette works with your hair. Magnificent.

I am loving you in these light neutrals. It looks so wintry chic. The shimmery polkadots are fabulous under the soft cowl sweater. My favorite is #2. I love the shine of the sequin top topped off with a tough yet crisp jacket. I LOVE the look. Not sure if I have enough sequin to copy but I am filing this one away for future reference.

BTW #6 is a very close second runner up for favorite.

So beautiful in every frame. I see #3 just as more classic as the others, but it's far too refined to be frumpy. I love the sequins on you and think your styling layers handle the short length beautifully.

I gasped when I opened #1, Joy! I would wear that in a heartbeat. Did you also try it with the gold flats from #3?

I'm in agreement with you that the moto jacket helped the skirt outfit look more modern. I'm not feeling a-line skirts lately. I think my eye got used to the knit tube skirt silhouette.

Parsley, you may not like cowl-necks for your polished style. That is one of the problems I have with them, but it may mean searching out the right one.

Lyn67, it's true. I have an unofficial winter light neutral capsule going on. Now to find some low-heeled white/ivory booties, although the SE python petty booties do a good job most of the time.
Angela, I find myself wearing that white moto a lot more than I thought I would as an indoor jacket.

AJ, ( my pad wants to change your name to AJAX!), I did wear the first outfit with the gold loafers for awhile before my feet got too cold. They looked better than the booties to my eye. I'm with you on the a-line vs pencil skirt and have edited out other a-line skirts.
