So this is the first time I got to wear the new Rockport boots and I must say they are very comfy for a 3 inch heel. I usually wear a 9 but I got a 10 and it works because I wear thick wool socks with them (I hate cold feet). This is also my debut of the half tuck. I like the look. I finally had time to style my hair (...eh it was date night--- what else was I going to do to prepare?) So there are lots of curls -- they had to survive under a winter hat, which they did very nicely.

Am I the only person who feels odd about wearing skinny jeans tucked into boots because that was the "fashion" about 20 years ago? I live in a cold climate so shoving pants into rain or snow boots is an annual event.

However, I never thought about it before today because today I was shoving my pants into my boots for fashion, not necessity. Perhaps, this is my first time at the rodeo experiencing a full circle moment with a trend that has come back in style -- feeling like it was brand new and never seen before as a teenager (yeah, right!) then watching it fall out of fashion only to see it come back (along with a lot of other things) several years later.

The act of tucking my pants into my boots brought to mind an idea that was discussed in a thread a few days ago. Age and trends. I just wonder how many times will this particular trend (or any trend) come back before I look ridiculous doing it.

I did not expect to go on that tangent, but date night with DH was filled with lots of insightful intellectual exchanges and I just wanted to share.
